2003 Mazda Protege 5
New here, just figured I would introduce myself. I just bought a 2003 Protege 5 used with 32,000 miles on it 3 weeks ago from Wednesday. Only problem so far was a nail in the tire a week after I got it. Easy fix, had it patched at Wal-Mart for $7. Stock for now, here's some pics...

Forgot to add that if you're from New York, feel free to check out the site in my sig. :)

There's a yellow one for sale in my area. I think the guy is having a hard time due to the color, been on autotrader a long time but looks very clean.

Nice color! And looks like a very clean engine bay! Don't see that very often when buying used...

Yes, I was very suprised when I saw how clean the engine bay was... Almost looked new. Very happy with the car so far! :)

Anybody have any ideas on what I should upgrade first? I plan on buying an amp for the subs by the end of this month but what should I do after that?

Get rid of the Mazda radio.. Oh god it is awful, even makes CD's sound like crap....

I'm an ALPINE person myself, deck, Xm receiver, tweeters with full components in the front, reg. Alpine in the back, 2 Alpine Amps, my sub isn't Alpine. It helps that I work for an electronics retailer and got everything dirt dirt cheap and almost completely free install, I had to buy a couple of pizza's for 2 full days of labor.

I bought a PYLE QOOBX box off Ebay for $50 bucks. I expected it to blow after a year but now it's 3 years old so I'll keep it. Once it goes I think I'll go with a nice 10' kicker sub box.

seems so long ago since my car looked like that...oh well bottoms up (cheers) welcome to the forums and let the purchasing start (thumb)

Welcome! Tons of info here. Just search and ye' shall find. I agree, very clean for a northeastern vehicle. Almost as clean as mine. ;)

welcome to your new life! now go mod..........its like breathing. once you start you never quite stop. after a while..........you'll wish you never started.

Welcome to another Vivid Yellow PR5!!
looks like you already started on the stereo?! The stock one pretty much sucks.

What are your plans for it?
