Heatsheild....

I have been hearing this humming noise coming from my engine, when i get around 2500rpms....i was told it might be a heatsheild that is loose..cuz it only happens when im driving....when i idle and rev it up, i hear nothing....when im driving, humm humm.. sounds like a musical instrument..lol....so what do u guys think?

Is it just at 2500rpm's or does it keep going as the rpm's go up? Have you checked the heatshield yet? I had a loud rattle noise once at 3000rpm's and it turned out to be one of the gaskets for the stock exhaust right under the middle of the car. There are only a few bolts that hold the heatshield on and I
know they will loosen up.

but its not even a rattle...its like a humming....and ya, it starts a 2500, and from there it does off an on....but i had a 94 integra, and my heatshield rattled like crazy....but this is like a metal humming..or i guess it would be a metal vibrate

Well it would be easiest to check the bolts holding the heatshield on. Have you had a chance to check them yet?

kinda of.. im having a hard time locating my heatsheilds...i checked the headers gaurd....and thats all i checked...maybe its my timing belt??

the "header's guard" is the heat shield. That's your turbo manifold behind it.
