Heartbroken by a mustang...

Those numbers sounds dead on for a Mustang dyno. My stock STi did 220whp on our local Mustang and my MS3 put down almost identical #'s as your MS3 with the same mods. I dont understand why people get so upset about a dyno number, its not like your car is slower than the guy with the same mods who dyno'd on a dyno jet.

I will say I'm a little surprised. Here on the Mustang that I got Dyno'd on, stock MS3's were putting down 208 to 215. I had just a MS CAI and Test Pipe at the time and I put down 230.

What gear were you in? I didn't find out till after, but on the day I did it the guys did the test in 3rd gear :( I would expect even higher numbers if it had been done in 4th.

There's other factors that come into play...tire pressure, altitude, humidity, etc. This is why the SAE has the "correction figures" based on those other things.

We were dynoed in fourth gear.

I attribute the slight torque difference in me and seans car to the fact I am using full synthetic lubricants and have a stiffer engine mount so theres less torque lost to having that engine move around.

btw here's the graph, sorry its hooj:

(Edit: Fixed it for you. rotus8)

I wanted to come out but I am taking the car in tomorrow for its 2nd oil change at the dealer and the 7500 mile service. Im paranoid and didn't want anything bad to happen.

Anyways, sounds like it would have been a pretty good comparison between all of our cars. I wish I did run because I don't have a different rear mount and it might have given some insight on that topic by having another car there. Stinks about the lower numbers but you cant help that.

I am for sure heading out to the next CM meet though.

i ran mine on a super flow in 5th gear and got 212whp and 262trq completely stock except for mobil1

Subparpunk (kurt) has a TRZ Delrin Mount. I have the stock, filled with urethane. he is also running amsoil in both the engine and tranny. i plan to do the same. his engine was rock solid on the dyno, mine looked like a heart beating... i have a list of things to do coming here soon.

i already ordered the cobb accessport,

after that, i am doing amsoil or royal purple fluids. likely amsoil cuz kurt has a preferred membership thingy...

then is a TRZ poly mount.

then comes a downpipe (hopefully cobbs will be ready)

then setting up for the 3076R :)

I decided not to search for a specific WHP number or 1/4 mile time... i think the 3076R will make me happy regardless of what numbers it puts down...

most of the stuff for the 3076 might pile up in my garage, until the protuner s*** comes out.

My engine was rock solid except for that detonating like CRAZY on the second run!!! I gotta get that under control.... water injection and AP are next on my list.

Despite what cobb says I think the pro-tuner s*** is gonna come out relatively quickly, I give it a month or two. Its already out for the rx-8.

dont hold your breath on the pro-tuner.

they may have been planning to release it shortly after the initial launch for the rx8

dynojets read up to 15% higher and mustangs are known to be the most "realistic and accurate" dynos... and of course the heart breakers

Look at it this way you can always tell the other guy you beat him
with 40 less hp.
Just dont tell him you were on a mustang dyno.
