have to replace strut, what now

so i was in a little fender bender, actually it didnt really bend the fender so much as all of the stuff that hold the wheel to the car.... and to amke a long story short, i need a strut for the rear passenger side. while im at it, i might as well replace both of the rears. if i can find a good deal on some "inexpensive" lowering coilovers, i might as well do the whole car since it has 80000 miles on the stockers.....

i found a replacement from monroe at andy's auto sport that fits the non mazdaspeed. its like 120 for both rears. i really dont want to go that route. info please

Just for reference...

What is the stock replacement strut for the MSP? Specifically, the part numbers for each corner.

i called the nearest mazdaspeed dealer and got a price on the lateral bars, the thing they and the trailing arm and the hub bolt to (forgot the name... brain fart), and the hub assembly. he said the replacement shock was 255 dollars. (bang)

yeah, get the shock elsewhere. but be aware, replacing the rear shocks will lower the back of the car a bit.

thats why i would like a full replacement. i also would like to get adjustable ones depending on how spirited i feel like driving.... and so i can soften this twitchy little sucker up some when it rains

if you put in different struts, you WILL lower the car back of the car because the lower spring perch is higher on the OEM struts. I only put in front drop springs...

edit: short answer: absolutely.

well i am going to take this golden opportunity to get a full set of shocks and use my oem springs. if i like it lower, cool. if not, then oh well i will have to learn to like it. if i want it lower still, then i can go to drop springs. i would go with drop springs now, but i have to obligate the car fund elsewhere, like the body and suspension damage. just out of curiosity, are the lateral bars/ spindle assembly the same on the speed as the "non speed" protege? if so, could i get them from orielly's?

I believe all of the rear crossmember assemblies are the same for disc brake cars. just the brake brackets/calipers/pads/rotors are different on the MSP.
