Its been good here. Sux not being with my wife, but she has been here for the holiday and will be going away to NC on Tues. Hopefully we will get rid of our NC home soon, it sucks to be so far away from my lady. Other than that it has been great! I love my new job, and being 10min away from the beach is a plus. Ive been workin mad OT, so thats the reason I havent been real active.

did you have an Si? or was yours modded?
cuz unless it was an si or highly modded i find that hard to belive, stock for stock every civic i've owned, driven or raced against has been slower and didn't handle better than my protege's 1st gen as well as 3rd....however my 1st gen would have owned my 3rd gen tho mazda should have never gotten rid of the BP imo....but back on topic i'm guessing yours was an Si?

Yeah I don't hate civic in general. Just the ones that have been molested by their tasteless owners. I haven't seen a stock civic since I been here! I don't remember what they look like stock anymore. I have lil room to talk but there is this one I keep seeing that has a body kit that is unpainted and damaged to hell. Civics aren't a bad car but some people just go overboard and will downshift on anything they see even if it's a ricer fly by. I haven't seen an asian guy in a civic yet so I will help kill that stereotype

Oh and i did have a good taste and i took good care of my car, actually Da 6 is right there are some honda drivers that have their cars like crap and they think that their car looks better than the proteges msp, p5 , non turbo proteges, mp3's well imo both mazda and honda cars are good but that depends also with the owners too.
I could not hate the car because of the owners because if I did I would hate alot of cars because of general stereo types that follow cars:
srt4: every owner thinks they are the fastest thing on the street and love their 30 mopar bov
wrx: every owner thinks that the wrx is gods gift to cars. best handling and will smoke anything off the line
bmw: every owner thinks that because it says bmw on their car that they are and their car is a class above all others.
honda: every owner knows nothing about cars and only buys whats on sale at pepboys
mazda: if it aint a miata or some type of RX then its not a sports car. Or everything that mazda produces handles better than any other car in its class at least.
Ford: if it aint america made or owned then it aint s***, yuck-yuck. displacement is where its at!
Chevy: every owner loves their car for the first 50k and then trades it in on some other chevy, cause thats the america thing to do. And even if your car is faster than them they will always refer to the vette as being the king of all cars and you aint gotz s*** on dat yO.
The list of bulls*** stereo types could go on and on. Its funny to say something like, "well I have seen too many hondas with jacked up kits and bla, bla, bla". Again, I couldnt judge a car by something like that either. I mean, s*** there are people out going, "sports wagon? What the hell is sporty about have a wagon?" I like cars and I like people for the most part. Even if I think the car the person owns is a pile of crap I would not judge him/her on that fact. Alot of time, some of these people that dont know much about cars are just looking for someone to help them out and want to feed off the knowledge of others. I have run into that many times and sometimes you just run into them late in the game. They have already dumped money and are going in the wrong direction.

if the honda doesn't have a nasty looking body kit it will look good
I love my civic because it has given me essentially 106,000 trouble free miles at 32 mpg. Sadly, I will be parting with it soon to buy either a Mazda3 or a WRX (depending upon what I finally decide is best for me) so that I can have a "new" and "safer" car.
There's BILLIONS of people who own/drive Civics so even if 5% of them are morons, that's still a huge number or morons. Teenagers, college students, parents, grandparents, professionals, blue collar workers, doctors, garbagemen, janitors, retailers, morons, intellectuals, hippies, stiffies, sisters, brothers, rednecks, FOBs, democrats, republicans, blah blah blah. They all drive Civics. Good little work horses... that sometimes get riced out.
I think the popularity of the civic is the real reason for the backlash. Kinda like Michael Jackson, MC Hammer, Britney Spears, etc.
BTW... ChiMSP... can you tell me who this girl is? I've been trying to figure out who she is (obviously an import model) since I saw her pic in a mag.
