I have a 08 Speed 3 and my hatch will not open. The mechanism in the hatch sounds like its "unlocking" when I unlock the doors but the hatch will not budge when I engage the hatch lever. It acts like its locked. I have subs and I'm wondering if the past year and a half of massive vibration has rattled the mechanism lose. I have done several google searches and searched the threads in 247 and have not found anything. I am going to have to climb over my subs over the back seat to get to the back of the hatch. Mazda said it would be a minimum of $85 to get it open, plus parts if anything is broken. So what do you guys think? Is it going to be such a pain that its worth just paying Mazda or can I get the hatch open from the inside with some ease so I can figure out whats wrong with the mechanism?
