Has anyone else received a recall on their speed recently?

Hey all,

I was just wondering if anyone else has gotten the recall for the power steering pump replacement? has anyone had any issues with their PSP in the past? I hate to bring it in and do a recall when there is nothing wrong with it, maybe I'll just wait for the warning light to come on then take it in..? from past experiences, whenever the car goes in for a "unnecessary" recall it always comes back with more issues. What are your thoughts?

doesn't affect speed3s, hence why no letter.

Yep, the Speed isn't affected.

ive had a problem with my ps. it just stopped working. found something about a recall online so i went to the dealer to check it out. i told them i had a 2008 mazdaspeed3 and that my ps stopped working. they told me there is going to be a recall that will be sent out around january but if it completely stops working then they will take it in before hand and have it taken care of. they also told me what has been causing the failures. they said that the inside of one of the ps lines rusts which then flows through the lines to the pump causing some kind of blockage.

but for my car, its the weirdest thing. i havent had ps in like half a year at least. then a couple days ago, it just started working perfectly. the same day the temp dropped drastically. dont know if there is a connection or not.

Well based on the letter they said mine was included in the recall because of the VIN so maybe you guys will be getting one too...as of right now I haven't had any issues with the PS but who knows.

Is it Brown's Fairfax Mazda? They are sending a bulls*** letter out to try and sucker you into their service department. They even called and I told him that once I see a letter from Mazda I will believe that there is a recall. I wonder if what they are doing is illegal in some way.
