Has anyone autocrossed their 3 yet?

I am curious how these buggers will do. I was quite impressed last fall when I took one for a zesty test drive. :D

A friend of mine placed 5th overall in a recent autoX.
They're pretty good, but they're in G-stock, so competition is a bit stiff.

you said "stiff"...(rofl2)

seriously, did he place 5th in the PAX or the class??
Heh, our autocross club out here in West Texas is so small, we had only a Camry in GS this past sunday.
I got bumped up to Bstock with CSP since I had no contenders in Cstock. Running against S2000s is tough. I may as well just throw on my intake and run with CSP. :D

Well, I'm not sure under which system my friend placed 5th in, but I'll ask him the next time I see him.

Stiff competition includes Impreza, Celica, etc.

autocross'

We plan on autocrossing this spring/summer' , seems good on the streets, just doesn't quite have the lowend tq. as my Spec V. Handles great from what I can tell'

Keep everyone posted' can't wait to test it out' ~

the Pro5 is in HS with the rest of the "normal" proteges. the 3i should be a good HS car, but the Cooper and the new 2.3L Focus will be tough.

GS is also tough class for the 3s...SVT focus, Impreza 2.5RS, SE-R, Celica GT and class-dominating Cooper S to name a few.

The Spec V is in DS, running against MSPs, ITRs, and WRXs.

From what I understand, the MZ3 with the 2.0L and the 2.3L are in G-stock.
Which would mean anyone with a 2.0L is going to face some harsh rivals.

GS? uh oh...beware the Mini Cooper S'! those are the things that keep pissing me off! i was finally getting close to them...and figured i would give them a decent run this year, but all 3 drivers bought R compound tires, 2 running hoosiers and 1 running kumho's. due to that...i can only HOPE for a 4th, unless i can come up with a lot of money for some R's. yeah well...looks like i have to worry about you guys in addition to the Cooper S'!

you're right. boo to the SEB. the only reply seems to be, "well, write a letter."

i don't think either one will be competitive in GS beyond possibly the regional level. too bad the 2.3L focus gets a free pass into HS. at least something might challenge the minis.

True. But maybe putting the Mazda in GS says something about it's performance :)

yeah. the S is too overpowered for HS, but not quite fast enough for GS. :( the i is perfect for HS, but...(hand)

Well, once we start putting in some aftermarket shocks and catback stuff and some nice tires, we'll start showing the Mini guys just what kind of drivers we are!!

Or get 0wN3d in the process. Whatever. The Mazda is still an awesome car :)

i went to mazda rev it up on sunday and those mazda3 race cars could really handel. all they had were eibach sportlines, bosal exhaust and falken azenis. fun fun fun
