I went to the scoobie dealer today to look at the 05 STi. Why do u ask? becuase i am sick of the warranty issues with this car and it seems like everything that can go wrong goes wrong. I have been to 3 dealers to fix the same problem and none will cover it. So i decided I would like to try to get into something else. My goal is to get a car that i love so much (still love the MSP) that it wont need much to meet my goals. Ive always loved the Sti but now with the 05 model having even more features and new design elements, i am in love. So anyway i was planning on putting 5000 down on a new WR Blue pearl STi, and tradin the spicy in. Well i have 16k miles and an exhaust. Edmunds and Kbb both say my car is worth around 15-16 thousand. So they appraised it......11,500, I was like WTF. I owe about 14k on my car and was thinking theyed atleast give me that. I remember reading about someone getting a bonneville and gettting 16,000 for there trade. So what gives?!!? My car is in next to perfect condition appearance and psysichally. I was wondering if anyone else has traded theres and what they got. Also whats everyone think of the STi.

Well ive been trying to sell my 2001 Integra GSr for 13 months at 13k with 34k miles and no one has bought it. So i dont know if i wanna go trough that hassle again. Anyway They added rear fender flares, changed the console, added a cd player and climate control, the interior is even nicer then before too!

just a thought but you could wait a little bit and look in to the new lancer EVO M.R. edtion comeing out.. it beats the sti in every sence of the word. In fact it is THE most powerful car to come out japan EVER. The car will out run an sti or vette in straights and handles on par with porsche 911 GT2.

for you number heads hear are the facts, how ever this car is proof that numbers dont mean alot. However to drive the car is another story.

haha, same thing with me when i traded in the 350Z...

So many problems and the dealer would not fix them. I eneded up taking 7 thousand in negetive equity on a trade in so my 19,000 dollar MSP cost me 26,000. But atleast this one is better quality!!! (knock on wood) no major problems and the dealerships have been great!

Sell the car privatly just as someone suggested. You'll get way more for it. The STI is real real nice. I like the new Silver color....it's darker than the normal silver. Maybe pay down your MSP more than go for the STI...

Also the EVO Mr maybe the most powerful thing out of Japan but it's no daily driver.

its only rated at 276 hp, I know that sounds pretty weak but the gearing of the 6speed tranny throws the car to 60 in 4.2 seconds!!!! Sorry I forget the 1/4 time and trap speed but its pretty damn fast. I will look that up later. Whats funny is the car isnt made to be a dragster, its made to handle.. But I wont complain about the speed. (shocked)

I dont think there's any such thing as a trade in anymore.. its basically whatever the dealerships can sell the car to a whole saler for. My dad traded in his 03 mustang mach 1, and he barely got them to give him 20k for it. And did i mention the car only had 150 miles on it?

want to know a secret? the insurance isnt going to jump and if it does it will be very minor. You see on paper the evo M.R. doesnt look much differance from there other. Also think about it, there are tons of other 4 door family sedans (what my insurance agent rates it as) with the around the same hp.

Its not out of this world to see 250-300 hp cars these days.

to get a good trade in you got to do what i did...

I went to a dealership block. Mazda and nissan where on the same lot. Both owned by rosenthal. I went to Mazda and said i want to get rid of this Z that i bought from Haprit over there. They appraised it for 2 grand more becuase they wanted it.So i got 26,000 instead of 24,000 for it.Nissan was like WTF becuase it was a pikespeakwhite Track model. Very rare in my area!!! They screwed me so i screwed them as best i could.

Could you imagine their faces when a customer comes into nissan saying how much is that Z and they have to say its owned by mazda!!!!
