Had Surgery yesterday..Man am I sore...

I had surgery yesterday...and good lord Am I getting sore...Its been about 24hrs now and I feel the worst is still to come.They gave me Percocets,but I am trying not to have to take them....I slept enough yesterday...Not to mention Passing out twice while on my feet in the bathroom while usuing the facility.I am glad I didnt hit my head on the toilet or the tub either time...I was lucky....
And DAMN AM I SORE!

And don't be a fool, they give you pain meds for a reason.

I tried not to take mine after reconstructive knee surgery, big mistake.

Take the pain meds just be careful with them. As noted above, they gave them to you because you will be in pain! Don't try to save them all for a fun night or to sell, use them to get better.

The Percocets will help your pain. Taking them as directed won't make you feel 'out of it' either.

For post-operative pain, don't feel bad about taking narcotic painkillers...that's what they're there for.

The only thing my docs ever gave me was 800 mg of Motrin. I hardly see a doctor anymore since I got out the Corps. But when I did... it was...migrane from the range huh? here's some motrin for that. Oh dislocated shoulder... that sucks... here's motrin, lemme just pop that back in for ya. Wow, now you're losing a few toenails and bleeding all over the table after that 25 milie H.U.M.P huh?... here's Motrin. I was just waiting for the ... sucking chest wound from a gun shot eh? wow....nice sized hole ya got there...oh and here's Motrin. The military cure all for pain.

I had some cosmetic surgery done...Its not that I dont want to take them...I would just rather take them when and if the pain is unbearable...Its pretty sore now,but not enought that I can justify taking any pain meds....Later tonight or tomorrw might be different though.

When I had my multiple throat surgerys they would give me pain killers each time... I remember one time I was like, I'm going to do this without any help from medicine... Worst mistake I ever made! Stabbing pain in my neck... Ouch..

But yea, if it is just sore than leave it alone or take less than prescribed but make sure you use what they give you!

It was funny last night...I was feeling fine laying on the couch and had to fo to the bathroom...so I felt I could do it by myself...so I did....in the middle of Takking a pee...I must have blacked out/passed out and fell on the floor next to my toilet.THen I had to go later and the same thing happened again,excepth this time I fell into a shelf and almost hit my head on the tub.Neither falls hurt me luckily and I dont remeber blacking out either....That anestesia was some good stuff let me tell you ...It took all night to wear off.I havent had the black out speels today luckily...Other than the extreme soreness...I feel pretty in control...One reason I dont want to take my pain meds.They cave me 7.5/325MG Percs....My GF is a MA and she said those are pretty strong.She was in the hospital for some SERIOUS pain a couple of months ago and they only gave her 3.75/325MG percs,and those knocked her out like a baby.
I dont want to sleep...thats almost all I did yesterday.

I hope I get better fast cosidering I have to go back to work on Monday...I usually bounce back from anything really fast,but this is the first somewhat major surgery I have ever had....They put me under for the first time ever...it was weird...It was like are you ready to go to sleep...I said yeah...they hit me with that injection and I felt nothing for about 30 seconds then I felt it going up my arm and that was it....Lights out...until they woke me up to move me then it was lights out again.Then when I Woke up it was over.They were helping me up and getting me dressed.
Weird experience.

Let me guess... You had that third nipple removed? J/K, take the meds, enjoy the buzz. You'll develop a tolerance and you won't keep falling asleep. You'll just be happily stoned and ready to watch TV.

I remember that episode on MTV where that guy wore glitter and thought his calves were too small and he got implants!

Twice when they used anestia on me, I remembered what happened once and the other I was out like a light. The doctor the first time said to count down from 10. I think I remember getting to 7. Then it was lights out for me. lol

The second time, it didn't work so well and a little voice in my head said, this aint nothing, stay awake... stay awake. And I did. lol I was groggy and remember parts of the procedure, but after waking, I felt WORSE than the other time that I was completely out. I'd get flash backs for a few weeks after that, but after a while it went away. It was weird.

7.5mg oxycodone (the narcotic analgesic in Percocet) shouldn't make you all that loopy. You may get a bit drowsy, that's all. The real 'fun' doesn't begin until around 15-20mg for most people.

I popped 3 Codeines at once and later on that night the AC started talking to me. My wife woke up because I was arguing with the window unit! (crazy)
I slept well after the ac shut up.

No guys...I had lipo of the upper and lower abdomen and the love handles....I used to be really fat and lost about 80 lbs.,bur I could not get rid of my gut for the life of me...So after a little research and a lot of contemplating...I went ahead with the procedure.
And by the way...All your funny posts made me laugh and it hurt really bad...
