does anyone have any secrets to get gum off of the floormats? so far the gum is winning (bang)

I have heard to use ice cubes in a zip lock baggie. Get the gum nice and cold and it should come off easier.

If it doesn't take out the dye, try some "goo-gone". Can be had at any grocery store in the cleaning agents isle. Or carefully try some engine degreaser.

degreaser or tar remover is much harsher than goo-gone. Try goo-gone first, and patch test a small area on a corner. If it doesn't take out the dye with liberal rubbing, likely it won't, period. To be on the safe side, with whatever solvent you decide to use, clean the area with soap and water afterwards.

Yes i d try goo-gone first,or a good carpet cleaner, and going the same way, dont forget to clean it with a lot of soap and hot water...if it dosent work, well, try tar remover....

Or a thing that would probably work, the stuff that we use to clean electronic parts, here they call it FREEZE-IT,its an aerosol can,you spray on something, and it freeze,so probably would work for you...i d give it a try!

Yes, if you're using the "get it nice and cold" technique, your best bet is to use a can of compressed keyboard cleaning air. Get them at staples. Turn it upside down and spray, and freezing cold C02 comes out.

Goo Gone works pretty good... but test it on the fabric first before attacking the gum.

On a side note, peanut butter gets gum out of hair... so who knows maybe that could work on fabrics, too.

i have personally done the ice cube thing and had great success with it. I just put the ice cube directly on the gum though and just rubbed it back and forth till it was hard then just took the chucks off.

best freeze method is the co2 can. you can have the gum frozen in seconds to chunk off instead of an ice cube which can take a little while. (5 minutes maybe) im impatient so id freeze the s*** out of it out of frustration. *id probably freeze a whole in my floor* lol.

Get a can of air, hold it upside down, and spray onto gum. It should freeze quick and you should be able to get it out...
