Ground Loop Issues

If you like them then just take the exchange. They are just going to send them back to the manufacturer anyways. Its not like they need another tweeter mount cup. If its an issue, tell them to keep what ever your missing from the new set they are giving you. They may even let you just swap the one mid to save installation time for you.

i am freaking out because they say that they want EVERYTHING mint and immaculate. We'll see

AAAAARGH. It will never be over, never.... I think you're right firsty, my amp is screwy... I realized it when i turned it on today. Only one of the rear speakers was working ( fronts are out so no speakers in front...) So i went wtf and started trying to figure out what the hell was wrong.... And there is a problem with the RCA inputs on the amp itself(all the wires did it...) If you wiggle the wires the sound goes away... So somwhere the inside the connection is bad or something... I don't know... The speakers i will send back first thing monday. Can't deal with this s*** anymore especially today and this weekend. 15 page paper due monday... s*** i should have never messed with the stereo... It's just that it sounds so darn good...
Any questions comments and explanations welcome. Empathy wouldn't hurt eather....

yuppers. It's new barely a month out of the box...

I wish it happened withing the first 30 days, as then i would have been able to send it right back to cardomain. But i guess i will have to go through clarion directly. I am not sure whether i will have to send it somewhere or there are clarion repair centers in new england/mass...
GOD DAMN IT....

You'll have to send it out.

Are you coming to the install day tomorrow? I'll be there and I'm pretty sure 1sty is coming too. We can take a look if there is time and the weather clears.

i doubt it, due to the reasons i listed above, AKA 15 page recearch paper due on monday...

I would definitly like to swap my alpine amp in just to see if that takes care of the problems. I would also like to do a continuity test on the speaker wires to ensure none are grounding out and causing some issues.

A very important thing to remeber is that you didn't fasten your amp down. This means that it was constantly kicking around which could have damaged it. If you do get the amp fixed, you need to secure the amp in place.

Get your amp taken care of, and once your all set with school, I'll help you get this all taken care of.

thanks firsty, you're real friend :) Yeah i am not gonna worry about this s*** now... I will send the speakers back tomorrow. My friend david gave me his old set of coaxial infinities 6x8. basically identical speaker to the component woofers i have. So i might use those once i figure out the rest of stuff. Once i get a little bit more free time i will probably swap the clarion amp for my old 2 channel crappy one, at least for the time the clarion will be in repair.... We shall see. Thanks again.

Current status update. Speakers sent back. Infinity coaxials given me by my friend not yet installed. The amplifier is out of the car and in the box. I contacted Clarion, and one of their service centers in MA. The service center said they don't have my particular model listed (Duh, of course) and clarion service rep said to just send it to them... I will have to see about that, and hopefully send it this week.
My old Amp (bad 2 chnannel Autotech ss 250) is in the car with the power/ground/remote connected. It powers up fine. I just have to put the coaxials my friend gave me in and see how they do....
I still hope to see Firsty about the front door wiring, and stuff....
soon hopefully. As soon as i am done with god damned school.....

So out went the Clarion amp, in went my old piece of crap Autoteck amp. Out went the component infinities, in went the old coaxial 6x8 infinities my friend gave me. And a miracle happened. IT SOUNDS GREAT. I dont ******* understand what the hell is up. I was listening to Soul Coughing ( for those who don't know them their music has an insane amount of bass) with the amp turned up almost all the way. The stereo turned up to 25 out of 32 with magna bass on, and all I heard was clean bass with MINIMAL door pannel vibrations. Nothing as horrible as I heard from these doors before. I mean i barely ever listened to soul coughing before cause the vibrations were so bad, even with the doors dynamatted. I am confused but happy. I might just keep my friend's old speakers. I have the tweeter twisted up and towards the rear of the car, and the imaging is pretty good, no more ear pain. I am not even sure what the advantage of the components is anymore (I know I know better imaging)

I dont know what to think of this whole experience. I guess the clarion was sending bad signal causing all the extensive vibrations and tweeters/woofers to blow. Go figure. I will soon send it to warranty repair and we will see I might just sell it after that, cause i am soooo tired of messing with it....

THe clarion was likely pumping DC voltage out ot the speaker speraticly. So back to my first guess, the amp was F'd :D

yeah... Before i send it is there any way to test it so i can point out the problem to clation, and not just say it blew my speakers, and the RCA's plugs are screwed up?

But yeah, once again a proof that you are DA man :D

NOt really unless you know a bench tech. You can say that it was blowing speakers, and made some really nasty speradic noises, even at very low volumes. Include that there was a constant, low level electrical crackling.

Tell them this was witnessed/verified/tested by an MECP certified installer at a clarion dealer (me). End with that you swapped out the amp and all problems went away.

OK. I'll do that. I wasn't sure if you had the necesary equipement. There is one more Clarion certified service center in Mass that i need to call. It would be much easier dealing with a person one on one, than sending it all the way to Cali....
but we shall see.

So the amp was sent to Cali aka Clarion headquarters.... I put a detailed description of the problems i experienced with it. I will keep you guys updated on clarion customer service and the quality of the fix...
After the Amp comes back i will need to decide what to do with it. I want to have a good amp, but i just really hate the thought of messing with stuff again... But i feel like i will have to...
Also i am surprisingly satisfied with the imaging of the coaxial infinity's. The highs are bright and crisp. So i will stick with them for a while....

wow... lost track of this thread for a while tyusha but glad to see you are still pluggin away with what you have to work with and from all i have read hopefully in a couple weeks you will have the clarion and the infinities back in and soundin "oh so sweet"

slight thread jack but you goin to the nepoc dyno day??? (june 4 in ct)

yes most likely and hopefully my friend david is going too

I need to twist his arm a little bit....
