Grinding noise on 1st gear!!

Hey guys I am new here, and I have been trying to find some info on a issue I have, with my ms6, basicly when I put the car in 1st gear and let go of the clutch, it makes a grinding noise while the car is coming off a dead stop, if the car is in motion it will not do so on any gear. and one point the clutch pedal was staying stuck halfway thru the travel. but it hasnt done so anymore.

it does not squeal or grind when pedal is fully pushed, and again only makes the noise when the car is NOT in motion (coming out of a dead stop) and the pedal is released in 1st gear or reverse.

Any ideas? Thanks

hard to say really.

so basically doing a 1st gear throttle/clutch transfer to start moving from a stand still grinds... this is occuring during the take-off and not the gear shifting correct?

could be anything from bad syncros not alighning gears correct/didnt connect correctly leading to a grind as it tries to catch.
could be simply a bad clutch, not able to fully re-engage the gearing.
could be the gear is missing a a few teeth.
could be as simple as fluid needs replacement/toping off, or even human error, feathering clutch too much/not giving enough throttle etc.

If you know for a fact it isnt any of the simple issues, i highly suggest taking it into a shop/tranny specialist/or dealership ONLY if it is still under warranty.

well it is under extended warranty but clutch assemblies and all associated parts are not covered. the fluid is to the top. And I guess I wasn't specific but it is not gear dependant, if I try to go from a standstill on any gear it will do the noise. So as you mentioned it is doing from take-off and not during shifting, I can even downshift into first (while the car is moving ) let go of the clutch and it will not do the noise. the dealer said the found a piece of metal loose around the "inspection cover" whatever that means.

This is the piece.

It's possible it's not clutch related...a sticking brake pad would make a similar noise until friction pushed it off the rotor. See if you can narrow down where on the car the noise is coming from.
