I have the same problem Street Unit and I just got the RS on friday from your store. How do I fix this problem?

i am have the same problem with the RS. how do you get that. are you running stock boost .

If you listen to the sound clip, it's sounds like everyone else's. It makes a quick pshhh and then the turkey.

Same s*** as everyone else's.

yeah but I wished that I had the pishhh all I have is a$185 turkey. Maybe Street unit should take it off of the Mazdaspeed protege link on their website because I had no Idea that it would not work on stock boost and there was nothing really on the forum about the RS till now.

You can't get it to Blow-off at all? It should blow off with a heavy foot. I don't even have to go over 4000 rpms' to make mine blow off, starting from 3000-3200 rpms.

You shhould be able to Get a Quick pssshhhh.

yeah it blows off just like the stock one does..........turkey the only difference is that it is alittle louder than the stock one and that it turkeys longer but does have a little pshh immediately before the turkey

Yea, the little PShhh right before the turkey is all your gonna get at stock boost. It won't even blow off in neutral with mods or not.

But with more boost you can get it it to blow-off. If you stay in gear, without shifting and try and make it blow-off, you can most likely get just the Pshhhh. I do it all the time and it blows off.

i just boosted my car and am runnin 7 psi with the greddy rs. if u loosen the bov more u will get the psst sound u are lookin for but it might leak very little when compltely off gas but still in gear, where vac is the most. i figured i would rather have a very small leak than have compressor surge! u will hear a very faint whistle when at full vac, thats where u know u are leakin a lil. just keep tryin it until u find a happy medium, it took me about 20 min to get it almost perfect, no turkey, just bov goodness!! (and a very small leak) mines before the MAF, so the car still runs fine, if u are after the MAF, than it probally wont work!

how far can you back off the screw on the rs without the screw coming off.

Until it comes off lol. I've tried opening it up already, and it gave me even more turkey and no pshhh at all.

I have type-s coming soon...hopefully that will give me more of a desired sound because like highspeed said all i have now is a louder, longer $185 turkey. But its fine maybe when i upgrade more the rs will come in handy for me if i still have it.

I am a slave to the man these days so I don't get on the forum much. But I still work on the car most weekends and it's come a long way in three years of work.

So what did you end up doing? Mine sounds much cleaner than all that is described and yellowspeed's so I'm doing something different but if it can be better I'll go for it.

LOL..just played the video at max volume on my labtop and my rabbit freaked out.

I've got mine to just say pshhh. I just had an idea, and realized I my open exhaust was spinning the turbo way too fast. So I ease on the gas, barely getting into boost maybe even no boost and I get the pshhhhhhh, followed by no turkey-no nothing. A slow pshhhhhhhh, or faster pshhhhh depending on how much gas you give it and no turkey after. Take into account I don't have a stock turbo etc, but it sounds like the HKS valve, or like a SRT sounds with the stock set-up or HKS valve.

(wiggle) So this valve can blow off, with no turkey, at stock boost or almost stock boost.

But your not running a stock turbo, so more cfm is running through there at the same boost level. I'm trying to fix a friends car. He has the apexr-1 valve kit on there. Anyone mostly stock that has goten a good sound from theres?
