Mine are doing this, it's about a 1/2 inch of play front and back. The repair shop said this is normal, I'm going to take it to the dealer to confirm. When you say no play, do you really mean ZERO play? Like if you press forward or back on the headrest the whole seat will move?

There isn't supposed to be any play in them. If there is, it is a safety issue. If you check your other headrests, you will see that they don't move. I will post pics of my damage once the car goes to the body shop on monday. I want to document the whole thing.
