Whoo-hoo!

Next to save up some emergency fund money and then maybe invest in the Mazdaspeed CAI!

I would recommend the CP-E CAI. I have had installed for approx. 3 weeks now and it has been a dream. Of course with my HKS BOV. Take a look...

Damn I don't have my memory stick reader...i have posted the bigger pics on the "mazdaspeed3 cai" and the "2007 mazdaspeed3 cold air instake awsome" thread check it out.

The service tech told me that the repairs cost $9k. I don't want them claiming next time that the damage was caused by a 3rd party modification if this should happen again, so I'll stick with the Mazdaspeed stuff for now (won't void warranty).

I MAY modify the shifter assembly bushings by replacing them with aluminum ones and I MAY replace the TMIC with 3rd party if I get AAA and so then can have the car towed to my home first to replace the TMIC with the stocker before bringing it to the dealer.

If your thinking about replaceing the TMIC then replaceing it with the stock one if a problem happens, why wouldn't you do the same with the CAI?

The TMIC looks easy to do. I'm not so sure about the CAI. I feel FAIRLY confident I could do the TMIC in the street, but not the CAI. Plus, Mazdaspeed doesn't offer an upgrade TMIC, so aftermarket is the only available option.

To be honest with you your not making any sense. The CAI is a small mod. As the TMIC is a straight replacement of a part for the engine to function and operate which will void your warranty on the engine itself. With that being said, wouldn't you want the CAI to help with your mod to the TMIC???

Can the CAI be done without getting underneath the car? The TMIC I can access from the top and do it out in the street should I be forced to do so. I didn't realize the CAI could be done from a mere open-hood.

Nonetheless, I can get a Mazdaspeed CAI that DOESN'T void my warranty so I wouldn't have to remove it should I need to take the MS3 to the dealer. I'd be willing to do that with the TMIC only because a Mazdaspeed upgraded TMIC isn't available, hence my only option is aftermarket.

So, with Mazdaspeed CAI and aftermarket TMIC, I only need to remove the aftermarket TMIC if I need to bring the car to the dealer.

With both aftermarket TMIC and aftermarket CAI, I need to remove them BOTH before I bring the car to the dealer. That means more work for me.

Getting the CAI out should be relatively easy, getting the stock air box and assorted parts back in would be hard to do on the street.

I don't have the TMIC upgrade but it looks easier to do then the CAI.

What's wrong with the MS CAI anyway? It should be a nice mod. The only thing is price, but if you're willing to pay that much for an item that doesn't void your warranty, that's cool.

No. The CAI install cannot be done with a mere hood open. You have to get underneath the car dismantle the wheel well on driver side and take out the second air box and also mount the CAI to one of the egine wells.

So, why is everyone pushing for the CP-E CAI, arent they basically the same? I'm with Nondual on his logic, get an upgrade that wont void warranty and will add performance and get an aftermarket that's easy to change in case of any warranty that needs to be done.

Their lots of threads on here about it.
And they are not even close to being the same..

After two weeks with first a Ford Focus automatic and THEN a Chevy Aveo automatic, it's nice to be driving a car with balls again.

Eeeew~ I'm sure your Aveo wasn't any better than my white Cobalt rental unless it had powered windows along with central locking. (Cobalt didn't -_-) puhaha!

Your poor soul .... What are you doing here typing, when you should be out there driving your pocket rocket and forgetting about those other two cars you were tortured with.

Keep Zooming!
