score one for the rotary newb! lol
def. not selling the car lol, but what made him come out was the RX7 idling, i wasnt even in the car lol, i was up front doing the lazy eye mod to it.
and dammit i was hoping the Apexi was a header back.
....lazy eye mod....
And no normally al exhausts for the 7 are cat back because the headers vary so much...at the most it may delete the cat but I doubt it caust you wouldn't be able to bolt in a rb system.
I never knew exhaust could be so confusing.....
MSP exhaust is fairly strait forward... just the stock piece sucks and the word "downpipe" can't be used without confusion. its not so bad!says the msp owner....lol
Its not so confusing once you ditch the stock setup before the cat. Really corksport had a good idea making their header direct bolt in to the stock system keeping the cat. If I want to run a cat with my rb setup I have to build something.
got it running yesterday

after driving it i found that the power steering doesnt work and the gas gauge doesnt work either.
next weekend hopefully ill have some time to work on it a lil more, but man changing that fuel pump a b**** lol.
just checking that the pump and filter did the job for you then??? good to know.. SWEET!
The exhaust isn't too hard to figure out. It just gets confusing when you try to mix/match things. The Racing Beat header/pre-silencer and downpipe/pre-silencer combo replaces everything from the engine back to the stock y-pipe (including both cats). The Corksport header replaces the stock exhaust manifold and pre-cat and their race pipe replaces the stock cat, bolting up to the stock y-pipe. If you use the Racing Beat header you have to get their pre-silencer to be able to bolt up to the stock exhaust; it's either that or custom. As mentioned, the Corksport, however can be used with the stock cat. You can also use their race pipe with the stock exhaust manifold and pre-cat. Also, every exhaust system you see advertised, unless explicitly advertised as a full system (Racing Beat True Dual, etc.) is a cat-back. The Apexi N1 dual is just that so it will bolt up to the Racing Beat header/pre-silencer combo or Corksport header/race pipe combo. I am currently debating which header combo I want to go with but I'm pretty set on the Apexi N1 dual cat back until Corksport comes out with a smaller diameter exhaust for the N/A guys. The Racing Beat True Dual looks neat but I can't really justify spending that kind of money for what is essentially I stock-sized exhaust.
Congrats on the car.
I miss my '87. It was my second car. I miss my first car more, a '79 RX7.
I wish I knew more about cars back then, I just drove the piss out of them.
