Got me a FC

The header is pretty easy to install. Should take about 1.5 hours.

sounds good

Hardest parts of the header install are getting the heat sheild off the stock manifold because all the 10mm bolts are always rusted and being your in pa there is a good chance everything else is rusted...other than the rust thing if you can't do an rx7 header put your tools down and walk slowly away.

thanks for the heads up, they will def. be rusted, the whole exhaust is all rusted.

But i should be able to do this, im able to take off and reinstall my my turbo mani in like an hour, since i have done it like 4 times so far haha.

for now im just looking to do a basic bolt on NA build. Exhaust and intake are all that i know of that i can do, any suggestions on what else i can do?

if you can find a rotor head, get it ported.... prb wanna put that off til you have to rebuild though.

ya i was reading about the street porting a lil, but im not sure what is all involved.

It seems pretty basic and some what easy if you get the templates for pineapple racing, but i havent done extensive research yet.

yeah, I'd have to learn a lot more about rotaries before I'd try it... about all I know is its like upgrading a cam in a piston engine. the details of it are beyond me.

Like was suggested porting is an option but its not just cut and dry with that you have to be pretty precise and careful. Also having the knowledge to reassemble the engine correctly is the big one there.
Besides intake and exhaust (exhaust is a big plus on these cars) you can do a lot of weight reduction, upgrade to a s5 intake manifold setup or build your own, ect. The big thing is just making sure its all running right and getting it sorted out and replacing those old items. Suspension and handling is where the car shines so that's a big thing you may want to focus on as well.

well got the car to my place, fires right up with starting fluid. Just having a b**** of time with the dam screws to get to the fuel pump and i ran out of sunlight. So hopefully tom. ill be able to get it in.

But for today i got the title and change some fuses.

a fat kid in a small place haha.

on this pic there is a faint green circle, what is this block off plate for? also to the right of that a lil there are two green connectors that have nothing connected.

That block off plate it factory. Basically a dust cover for the ignition timing pickup, sorry I don't know the actual name. Good luck with your RX!

Can't see the green circle or I am not looking in the right place but there should be green plugs not connected to anything by the strut towers on both sides. I know on the drivers side is how you get the codes for a s5 not sure for s4

The circle is faint, it is to the right of the alternator just below it. Your Were's Waldo skills will find it :D

Ahh ok I see it now...doesn't help I am trying to see it on my phone...neway yeah that's the factory CAS cover and your right its the timing pickup...that's where the distributor goes on a non efi car.
