Good compact car for under 16K?

nah, like I said, the car cannot be faster than mine, so she is DEFINITELY not getting an MSP ;)...give it a rest guys, no one is getting ANY pics ;)

I wouldnt let her get an MSP, or A Mazda 3, or any other Mazda that YOU would like more than your P5. If you do, you'll always be jealous of her car.

(werd) thats what Im trying to say...scion xA it is, cuz I know that thing is slow as hell. I NEED her to get that thing in manual just so i wont hate life if I ever have to drive it(lol2)

SpecVs are fine, but too expensive...I dont want her to get a regular 1.8...they are teh suck ;)

haha, I'll tell her...NOT(lol2)
The Nissan dealer I deal with has acouple of brand new V for 16k on the lot. I keep seeing used Mazda6is for 13k to 16k on acouple of Mazda lots.

damn i didnt even realize not being in the market but mazda3 really looks best in that under 16k group

how about suzuki forenza - dont know much about the car but my parents use to own 3 suzuki mini-buses and they were pretty cool. i renter the xl7 for a 5k mile trip and was happy with it too. seems like theyre ok and prolly somewhat underpriced since i dont see any marketing for them anywhere

the scion im sure would be a reliable car but its kind of goofy looking .. though teenage girls may like that

She could get a Hyundai Accent. Before you laugh, I bought this car for my mom back in July. All she wanted was a cheap, reliable way of getting from point A to point B. Hyundai's relability now is topnotch, and plus I feel better knowing she has that warranty. It's slow as all get-out, but with rebates and some haggling, I got it for less than $11,000 OTD.

i read that hyundai has surpassed Toyota in less problems per unit. toyotas used 2 b the best.. 104problems per 100 cars. hyundai is now 102problems per 100cars.

TAKE THAT HATERS!!

Talk to J.D. Power. Or Edmunds. And welcome to 2004. This isn't 1994 anymore.

Well, it looks like its narrowed down to a Mazda3i or a Scion xA after talking to her. She also likes the Matrix, but they are kinda on the pricey side...Im wondering if mazda is gonna come out with any decent offers on the 3 any time soon b/c the 4.9% apr is nothing special at ALL. I dont there are or will be any special offers as far as financing or discounts on the scions for awhile, since they are pretty hot.

Only downside to the scion as far as I can see is that youhave to order it, as they dont keep many on hand. usually one of each model at each dealer, and no test drives(bogus)
