Going Turbo, By Summer of 07

manual tranny conversion yet?

Thats what is next. The only thing that makes me hesitant is I heard the manual conversion is weaker and very unrelyable.

Why don't yu just run an FMU and leave the boost low. The MSP set up will work fine for your application of low boost and an auto. Flypinoy is running that set up without an intercooler an the car runs fine so far. PM him to see what he did, he didn't spen too much either at least not for the parts he's using for the set up.

not bad advice at all!

Well it looks like i'll be going Turbo sooner then i thought, quite possibly late febuary or early march! Boozka_joe im going to be sending you some msg's about your turbo setup

To answer all you guys about the questions on costs, lets just say im going to be spending less then 2000.00 "I THINK" i have a little friend on the fourms helping me out. Once the turbo is complete i will give you all pictures and price costs.

I am also going to update you guys on what has been built/purchased so far.

I thought I mentioned in a previous post this is probably going to be custom built, so I'm not sure if its going the MSP route

Liitle Beavis is gonna hook me up, he's been through 2 custom turbo set-ups so he's got enough parts to make it happen as for the fuel setup I'm going to go the FMU/O2 set up for now and switch to a MPI later.

More to come!

Update:

FMU is here

Just ordered

Autometer 3 gauge pillar pod 58.99
Autometer 52mm Ultra-Lite Oil Pressure Gauge 57.85
Autometer 52mm Boost gauge 49.99
Autometer 52mm 100 PSI electric fuel pressure gauge 189.33
Flex-A-Lite Transmission Cooler w/ stainless steel mounting brackets 36.85 and 6.00

supposed to come out to 414 thats including shipping for 15.00

just some advice, in addition to those three gauges you should get an air/fuel ratio gauge with a wideband o2 sensor. this is the only way to measure air/fuel accurately. and trust me it is a good idea to have, since if for any reason your FMU goes bad your car will go way lean under boost. boost + lean = bad. for example i have the BEGI FMU in my car, and recently its mounting bracket snapped causing it to be dangling freely in the engine bay. FMUs need to be situated upright for them to work, so basically this meant that my car had no fuel management. luckily my wideband warned me that i was going way lean in boost. so yea its a good idea.

It looks like i will be going over 300.00 for everything which will now bring my total from 1900.00 to 2200.00

It gets expensive fast doesn't it? Still, very affordable.

Tuning with a FMU with be fine for right now, i will get a wideband later this summer but i believe we can make do with this set-up right now

well i hope ur FMU is high quailty. i had another problem before where the diaphragm in mine tore, so it didn't work until i realized what the problem was.

Hey ill have an AEM wideband available in like a month.

2200 isn't bad at all! especially with an FMU and transmission cooler, two things I don't have.

How much more stuff do you need?
