I have made the descision to go forged. The plan is to have the motor in the car and ready for next drag and auto cross seasons. My work is affording me a company truck to take home, so that will greatly reduce the driving of my car.

I have a friend who is holding onto an ebay special T3/T4 turbo that has been rebuilt with Garrett internals for me.

I will keep everyone updated on the progress and speed in which "Project: Danger Kart" is being completed.

Nice, I have been working on a forged motor for myself as well. Just getting together all the parts is taking a lot of time.

Lol. I hear that!! Took me about a year back in 04' -05' to round up s*** for my car. Got caught in a major cluster **** involving MAM. It sucked.

dude i am glad i didnt get in that boat with you guys...I was considering it after i got a few parts from them...then like a month later the mob was out with pitch forks hunting down Beau Pauley.

My situation was a little different- In an attempt to avoid the MAM bs, I ordered from another vendor. I did not know that vendor was getting them from Beau. 9 months later- I get a box with .040 over pistons and USED, yes thats right folks, used rods dripping with oil still containing a fine set of spun bearings. Original order was stock bore pistons and h-beam rods. I felt bad for the vendor I purchased through. He was totally on the ball always replying to all of my emails. Nobody wins dealing with a jackass. Luckily I got my money back. 1 day later I had rods and 4 weeks later the pistons came from MPNick. After being so irritated, I tried selling all my stuff but ended up just installing it. Now I'm running 13 psi, with water/methanol nitromethane injection. Be patient with your build!!

I was looking at the forged piston/rod set from ProtegeGarage (for $1300?!?!?). Is that a good deal? It says it comes with everything ur gonna need...I wanna install the stock turbo but wanna make sure i don't blow anything. Keep us updated HighwayUFO...

i'm contemplating the idea of going forged..
one thing tho, right now i can only afford one of two things

Haltech EMS
or
Forged internals..

my question is, is the stock ecu good for 14PSI with a voltage clamp?
i have an emanage tho...so perhaps i can get mor efuel if needed.

What psi are you pushin' now? I'm only gonna go about 10psi...I just wanna make sure I don't blow sh*t up. Some say anything over 8 I need to go forged.

i'm doing 10 psi now
i want to push 14

i think is fair to say that the stock ecu would have enough fuel for 14psi being that my car is ubber rich right now at 10 psi
i think is safe to assume that i can run 12 psi safely now..i just don't wanna push it

It's easy for me to say that 12 would be enuf for me but we'll see...

yes, if you have the money

arias pistons and pauter rods are about the best set up for the MSP

good luck if you go that way mang...you'll never regret forging an engine

That is not true. There are plenty of members pushing 10+ psi daily. It all about the right tune and supporting mods ....

Well, it's expensive, and my fear of blowing a piston will be gone, plus more flexibility later if i want more power. So if it's worth it, then i'll do it. Just after Christmas!!!!

What kind of supporting mods? And I don't know of too many places in my area that are trusted to tune a turbo...plus i have a heavy right foot and my motor has 172K + on it. I know it's gonna cost me, but rather be safe than sorry (as safe as 220whp can be!!)

you cna do 220 wiht a stock motor

supporting mods:
full exhaust 3" turbo back
FMIC
WideBand(just to be safe)
CAI (duh, probably already have that)
