glyph's Haltech E6X log...

That is insanely high fuel pressure! Wow... the 2.0L's run about 36-44 at idle...

Glyph, what did you guys end up at for timing when you advanced it on the dyno until you started to get power fall off? If you can post a rough set of timing versus rpm numbers that'd be awesome!

Thanks,

Steve

Oh, you can't read the maps. I will produce a basic itemized list for you. Sorry, was down with food poisoning the last couple days... Still not 100%. I have my new regulator to install, and exhaust manifold gasket to fix the leak.

I hadn't realized you'd posted them. I downloaded the software and looked at it.. you are running pretty advanced timing overall.. a little more than me, but not anything too significant. I'd have to try and translate some of the values more to get a better idea. But it's in the ballpark of what I'd expect at least. And you are running the 1.8 with a compression I don't know, so there may be some differences there as well.

Later!

Steve

btw, those fuel pressure numbers are the maximums. At idle I get much lower than the 48 psi.

welp, went to swap out the exhaust gasket, and found that the two bolts on the leak side pulled out their threads. They both had little aluminum coils wrapped around the threads. I picked up a heli-coil set today, and will install the coils tomorrow morning, and reattach the manifold. Had to unload the attic for the movers on wednesday to make the wife happy. That really sucked finding that out. But at least it should be an easy fix.

I got the driver side sealed by using a perma-coil set to retap the threads that pulled out. I have to do that on the passenger side too for at least one bolt. I have just been too busy moving in to the new place in NJ.

Well, I still have to put the bolts in place on the exhaust manifold. But there is good news: because of my cold start issue I have been messing with the air/coolant/fuel/ignition maps, and have found what I believe to be my missing 20 horsepower. The cold start issue still remains, but much less reduced, but the car now pulls a lot harder, again. I haven't dynoed it yet, but there is definitely more power there. I am currently running a bit on the rich side, but further tuning will quiet that down.

Not much to update. I had to replace my transmission and clutch, and I now have a second kid, combined with a few TDYs and now outprocessing to get out of the air force, my time has been severely limited, and my car needs some lovin'. It will get some soon as I now have some terminal leave in a month or so and a cleared garage to work in.
