Glove box dampener?

:
2021 RDX A-Spec
Does anyone know how to add a dampener to the CX-7 glove box? I find it kinda irritating that the car I spent $25k+ on has a glove box that just clunks open like some cheap american truck gove box. C'mon Mazda, how much are dampeners? I mean, really.

Anyhow, is it possible to install a dampener of some kind on the CX-7 glove box?

it's supposed to be there! maybe somehow yours got unhooked from the right side of the glovebox... it SHOULD be there

if you don't see it, remove the glovebox by squeezing the 2 stopper hooks on each end and look for it

Thank you!

Sweet, fixed it - thanks!

My wife and I just purchased a CX-7 GT (white w/ black interior) and I wondered the same thing. I found the dampener after I removed the glove box, sitting there waiting to be attached, not connected to anything. This is our first Mazda, and so far, with only 120 miles on it, we're both ecstatic about the car. Though now that I found this sitting under the dash, it makes me wonder what else isn't connected. Im enjoying reading through the forum and certainly appreciate all the collective knowledge.

Letmedrive, dont worry about it... Mazdas are very very reliable.

Older 94 Miata had 133K miles when sold and ran like a top.

Our CX-7 has almoast 8K miles and is doing great.

Check reliability reviews.. I cant remember where, but Mazda recently won
1st place for top reliability in some recent publishing/consumer test.

The fit and finish is great, and there is nothing more durable than a Mazda
4 cylinder.

I thought exactly the same thing when I first opened the glove box! I read this thread, went out and checked, and the connector from the dampener to the door is broken--it was delivered that way, and it only had 18 miles on it when I got it! Extremely thin plastic loop. I'll point it out to the dealer tomorrow. Disappointing. My '97 Miata was/is almost bulletproof mechanically.
