girls w/ muscles

I wouldnt say girls are stupid, more like ignorant.
Not many of them understand the mechanics of muscles and how they break and build themselves up again when you work them.
People dont have to bulk up when they exercise it depends on the work out they are doing. Some are meant to bulk you up others are to keep you lean.

Another thing is its WORK. Yikes!?! What girl wants to do that and break a nail! Hevens no!

its also genetics. I dont work out hard because if I do I will be one of the muscular ones. Its all in my genes. My mom and dad are both well built people. My brother and I inherited it from them. My brother looks ripped all the time and he doesnt really do much and Im in between (thank god!) My mom's scarey looking. not really because she has huge muscles, they arent big at all, but she has no body fat so it makes her look large.
I went through physical therapy 2 summers ago for an injury to my left arm and my back, at the end of the month the mucsles in my back had bulked themselves up a little (the exercises were meant to build muscle not maintain it) and I hated it. So I stopped the exercises I did.
I did it because I didnt want to be bulky like that. I like girls that have lean toned muscles rather then big bulky ones. More feminine and appealing to the eyes.

I'm not into girls who lift weights...I like it when a girl is athletic and plays sports, but when weight training is involved, I think a girl looses some of her femininity. Not trying to sound sexist or anything....

^^ I agree. I hate lifting weights. Its so redundant and boring. I'd rather play volleyball or football or something fun, that gets me up and moving.

i dont think i asked you to post in my thread, hmm, weird. also, learn sarcasm, it's a fun tool.

motegi, i'm not positive i buy the whole genetic thing. with enough work, and the right kind of work, i think people can overcome genetics and get any type of body. granted it will be easier for some people than others, and if some people do the wrong exercises for their body and become scared of them so they give up totally on it. i've just seen that excuse used way too much, it seems like all girls have a genetic disposition to build muscle and get huge. i don't think what i'm saying is coming out right, but it makes sense in my mind :)

I give equal importance to weights/cardio. I also do martial arts.

The key is that some weight programs build muscles and some sculpt muscle.. You just have to know what your goals are. I hate it when someone waves and the bottom of their arms shake.. YUCK.

Hell ya! I love girls that have some muscle~
LIke her....

I didnt meant it in the context of people without good genes cant look good. I meant it as in they gain muscle tone faster then others. Im one of them. A few years back a few friends of mine went on this crazed lets be healthy and look good thing and they drug me with them, they all got discouraged because I lost weight (or fat rather because muscle weighs more then fat) and gained the muscle tone they were looking for a long time before they saw results, so they gave up. I tried to explain it to them but I couldnt get them to listen to me.

That seems to be another HUGE misconception, that they exercise to lose weight and they get on the scale and weigh more so they dont think its working. When I was 13 I was playing softball, volleyball and football. I weighed 122 and my doctor tried to tell me I was obese because I wasnt within the weight limits for a girl my height and age, but it wasnt fat. I wasnt a chubby kid. I was very active.

And yes there are certain people who do certain exercises to lost weight here and there, but it doesnt work. If you want to see a difference you have to work out the entire body, not just target yor abs or butt. lol. It wont make the fat from those areas dissapear, youll loose the fat where your body takes it from. the muscles you are working out get larger or more toned but they dont use that fat in that area of the body for energy.

The best thing about muscle is that it burns fat for energy all day long :)

Y'know. I'm not sure if I agree with the genetics thing or not.

My father is of average height and has a medium build. My mother is a bit short with an average-to-slender build. My older sister is tall for a female, and built for a female. And then there's me -- I'm short and slender (5'1" and barely 100 lbs).

Considering that, I don't know how the genetics argument lines up. My sister and I look absolutely nothing alike. The only thing I can think of is that she took almost completely after our father, and I took almost completely after our mother.

And I think muscle mass has a lot to do with a person's metabolism, and that's just an individual thing. I'm one of those people that can stuff my face 24/7 and never gain any weight. My muscles also don't seem to need a lot of stimulation to stay in shape, either -- like you, Motegi. I took dance, played soccer, and swam all through high school and into my first year of college. I still keep physically active now -- but I don't train like all hell like I used to, and I'm still in pretty much the same shape.

Some people have to bust their balls to gain muscle mass, and others don't. I don't know. I think it's just our bodies' way of laughing at us.

(uhm)

Not really rush. Its in the genetics. High metabolisms run in my family. Every now and then you will have the odd one out. Im takling genetics because thats what I have seen working for me.

I dont look anything like either one of my parents. They are both exteremely muscular and its a natural thing. My brother takes after them, me on the other hand. Im not muscular looking like them. I mean you can see their ripping abs. Makes me sick. I struggle with baby fat and stomach pudge. Now when I get on an exercise routine because of the genetics I have a am capable of losing a lot of weight in a little amount of time. Hell believe it or not I dropped 22lbs in a little less then a month. Granted I was sick, but my metabolism is high as it is in my mom and dad and brother etc etc... and my body used the chub I have as energy because I wasnt eating a lot. And trust me I eat A LOT.

Like I siad before you probably stay in the same shape maintaining your muscles because you aren't working them to bulk up. There are different weight training exercises that build lean muscle and then that build strong bulky muscle. The lean muscle has endurance. The bulked muscle has strength. Lean muscles are good for running and swimming stuff that requires a lot of endurance and not alot of power. But if you were say going for the weightlifting champion title. Then you would want to bulk it up. Im not implying that lean people (like you) arent strong because you are.
Eventually as we age it will become harder and harder to maintain the shape we hold. Its good to get started early. Man I could go on and on...I better shut up before i bust out the scientific names and start talking about sarcomeres and ATP. lol.

THIRD year? .. Holy s***, props to you, then! I wasn't a fan of that course AT ALL. Then again, that could be because it was at 8am, and my ass wasn't too happy about wakin' up that early. The coffee effect never sank in fast enough t'make me coherent, LOL.
