Getting Turbo Replaced

Dealer replacing my smoking turbo under warranty. Just got car not too long ago and it's my first turbo charged car (got rid of my g35 sedan, darn happy i did too). Wondering what kinds of things I should ask about what they are replacing. (By the way the service manager didn't even know what the pcv system is, let alone what it does). Also want to make sure I have preventative maintenance under control. Gonna install catch can and get a turbo timer.... Any feedback would be awesome, I just don't wanna walk away with a new turbo and find out 6 months down the road that my intercooler is shot due to the leaking oil... and I don't wanna f this one up.

they're honestly probably only going to replace the turbocharger itself. it comes as an assembly with the wastegate actuator and studs.

just started smoking today. buddy was behind me on his scooter an shifting from first to second said he saw some blue smoke. so, hmm.. i have full turbo exhaust so my dealer will just laugh at me.

Hmm 09 with smoking? Thought this was supposed to be fixed. Try doing the oil swap and back to dealer with stock exhaust.

nope, sold the stock exhaust YESTERDAY! and it happened TODAY! lol. i plan on doing the 5w40 oil and seeing if that fixes it. i've always checked to see if it were smoking since i put on the exhaust. let it idle for 10mins or so with A/C on hold rev at like 3k for a minute let it sit and nothing so its def started just recently. my dealers is cool with the exhaust and my mods they just said the turbo wouldn't be covered. and im sure to get it fixed if anything IS wrong it would cost a pretty penny.

Im happy as hell they're doing it. Just got the car so at least I know the turbo will be good, luckily I haven't got to exhaust yet : ) just had SRI on there and took it off before bringing it in. I'm just beginning to understand the whole turbo system/cycle and want to make sure it didn't damage any other parts.

How is the dealer cool with your mods if they say they won't cover you lol?? If you blow your engine they damn well won't cover that either . . .

i ran 5w-30 mobile 1 and my car smoked.

i switched to penzoil platinum 5w-30 and it stopped smoking. id say keep the same weight as thats what the engine recommends and try using the penzoil like i did first before you switch the recommended oil weight.

lol, you have FULL exhaust and only experienced a little puff while shifting...?
That's not a bad turbo...that's normal. When you stop at a light and it looks like your car is steam powered, then it's time to talk turbo seals.

cause the dude said he doesnt care, just said as long as i remove the exhaust if i were to have any problems before i came back to the dealer it'd be fine cause the TBE voids the warranty on the turbo. so yeah, they seem pretty cool to me......

lol did i say anything remotely close to, OMG MY ******* TURBOS BAD! MY SEALS ARE SHOT! no. i didnt. i KNOW that with a full turbo exhaust it will smoke. it's common sense guy, if it were something i was completely worried about i would be doing something about it.

a bunch of jokers on here man boy lemme tell ya hwhatt (smash)
