Getting 30k service done this afternoon...

Warranty issue also a concern for me after reading another 30k service post where some of these services are required if problems arise before warranty expires. Is it enough to get me to dealer to pay extra $? Yes :D

True. I usually just take mine to firestone and have them do everything. I check the manual and see what the recommended service instructions are. And they lift / do all the work right in front of me so I know they are doing everything they say. I hit up autozone and by all my fluids. So I save a lot of money and I tip the guys there well so they are encouraged to not try and half ass me.

When I went in for my 30K, I asked the service writer what I had to get done, and an oil change was it. I rotate my own tires, otherwise I'd have had them do that as well.

Ironically, there's not a lot of work that needs to be done by the dealer to keep this car within warranty. Just the oil and a couple of filters. I'm like you and my time is very limited. Some DIY's I'll do, but the above stuff is relatively inexpensive no matter who does it.

Other preventive items can be done by a 3rd party without the need to involve the dealer. The money you save over time could probably pay for a family trip to Disneyworld, lol.

Just something to keep in mind the next time you take the car in for service.

The dealership has not and will never touch my car unless it's waranty work and then only if it is a costly fix.

NOTHING has to be done by the dealer to maintain the warranty. I agree with Cosmic. The dealer won't touch my car except for warranty work. It takes 'em too long and they can't be depended on to do any better than any other place.

You guys should get together with a few buddies and try to do it yourselves. You will learn a lot about your car and yourself.

I do understand Hyper that it's peace of mind for you so if you can afford it go for it but a lot of us have to sacrifice to be able to do these expensive services.
