Gauges to use with turbo?

cost is not as big of a priority as saftey and reliability. sure i dont want to drop tons of money on useless gauges, but i dont mind paying a lil more for quality accurate stuff.

Thats why im asking for others imput. Others have also told me to go with an EGT even if i have a wideband.

how about fuel pressure, it seems as if our stock pumps cant hold up. so would that also be smart to monitor?

If you have an inline pump, you'll have no issue with fuel pressure. No inline, maybe an issue. However, if you go standalone and say screw you to the FMU. No issue and probably won't even need the inline. I have an inline. It was great piece of mind.

I have a Greddy boost, Greddy Fuel, Greddy Oil, and Greddy EGT. If something goes wrong, yeah, I'll know, but I still WORRY a lot! The wideband WILL ease my pain (if I ever get it). For those of you like me, that only know enough about turbos to be dangerous, the other gauges don't tell you ____! Sure, my EGT reading looks good, but what A/F am I at? Who knows. Fuel looks good, but what A/F? Who knows. Boost is okay, but guess what, no idea on the A/F. What is going to cause detonation? Bad A/F. Detonation bad. . .

End of lesson from a guy who's had too much to drink tonight!

Agreed, and I definitly want a fuel guage and inline pump with possibly larger injectors.

Most definately get an EGT gauge...

I have:

A/F (regular, right off the stock 02)
Boost
Oil Pressure

and am getting an EGT and FP gauge soon...

I have the first 3 on my a-pillar
the EGT will go in my stereo panel
and the FP gauge will go under the hood... I don't want to spend the dough for an isolated FP gauge as would be required for in the car mounting... plus, i'm only really going to need it when tuning and then the hood will be up.

no matter what you get, make sure to get:

Boost gauge (duh... don't want any spikes or anything)
EGT gauge (once you learn how to use it, then you can determine exactly what is going on Rich/Lean wise)
