You *can* run 87 even. Only 2007 m.y. is the one you can *only* run 91+.

I just bought a 09 cx-7,i talked with a owner of one and they said they dont put the high octane in it,and it runs fine,the manual says prem fuel.

have 2007 CX7 and ran 89 octane when we originally bought it. performance tanked after a few months. Now have MAJOR turbo problems and wonder if this was a result of running non-premium fuel.

How do you think the lower octane hurt the turbo? The turbo is indifferent to the type of gas you use.

dont run 87 octane you will engine knock (not good). I also have 09 AWD cx7 and been using 93 octane since.

Running anything below 91 octane risks your engine and will hurt mileage and power.

It will cause knock which will force ECU to retard timing.

Knock is a bad for your engine.


Just say NO to 87 Octane...
