g35 coupe

I did. It handled fine.
I was actualy really unimpressed with the car.

I was disappointed with the handling.
The car was a bit uncomfortable, the brakes were WAY to touchy(that would probably break in),the steering wasn't intuitve to me.
Also the really ad thing was the power. Unless starting from a start there was just zero torque. I must admit I am not used to high reving engines though.

The interior is simply to cheap looking for a $35000 car too.

Yeah, I agree about the interior. But handling wise, it felt a little bit more "clumsy" than the Z. But I'd still buy one :)

Well I am not sure about the car that you drove, but I used to own a 350Z and they share the exact same 3.5 liter six. The Z benefits from 7 more horsepower due to intake and exhaust differences. But anyway, the thing was a torque BEAST!! Definitely NOT what I would call a high revving engine,. In fact it seemed much more at home in the low and mid ranges. The Z definitely did not FEEL as fast as it WAS, because the power curve was so linear, but it definitely hauled. Damn, I miss that car. Anyway, back to my point, I have not drivern the G35C but I would figure it would be much the same, just heavier (slower). As far as handling, my MSP outhandles anything the Z could bar none. And the Z is supposed to handle better than the G. I would say the MSP is more fun to drive, just definitely not as fast. With a few mods though.... some day. :D

I didn't drive it but I sat in it, didn't like it very much, but liked it more than the 350z, still like the rx8 best

regardless of the more powerful Z, I found the rx8 to be more enjoyable, read a lot of reviews too, the rx8 usually wins out, I'm in the "ain't all about power" crowd

What do you mean by "more enjoyable"? Kinda vague ;)

get's my mazda groove going =p wonder-vague powers activate! form postwhoring skills!

on a more serious note, I found the interior much better looking, also the seats felt much nicer IMO

Oh , i agree about it not being all about power, but the Z handled very well. The RX8 handles better, yes, but the Z was no slouch. And of coarse once you hit the straights, forgetaboutit. Just look in those same magz you read the comparison articles and look at track times, ( not drag, actual tracks ) and you would see. The Z has set quicker times than cars much more expensive such as the M3. Also, and I know this is not really relevant but if you wanted the best of both world you could purchase the Nismo S Tune suspension package, that costs about 1400 if I remember correctly and is warrantied by Nissan. The car with that setup was supposed to handle like a true race car or so i read.

I was thinking if I ever got an rx8 I'd supercharge it to pick up some power on the low end...although I'm not sure that would solve it's straightaway issues

The RX-8 is REALLY starting to grow on me know. Especially after the Nissan dealer I put an order in for a Z with keeps ******* with me. They told me my car was supposed to be delivered by 12/23/2003, and now they're telling me it won't be in til after the New Year  I thinking about getting my deposit back and buying an RX-8 out of spite, then drive to the Nissan dealer to show them that they just lost a sale due to their stupidity.

Its worth the wait. Also the aftermarket support for the Z has rocketed in just a short time. The RX8 aftermarket will be good, but nothing like the Z's due to the rotary. If you want an RX8, wait for the Mazdaspeed version.

Oh no, I agree with you, the Z is still my number 1 choice. It's just very frustrating because I've been waiting since September for mine. I know that in the long run I won't be happy with the RX-8. RX-8's seem much easier to obtain, and dealers are selling them at or below invoice. I've yet to find a dealer that will sell a Z at invoice. But you're right, it will be worth the wait.

the g35 is my dream car. if i could get one, the first thing i would do is upgrade the suspension. like jic's and some stiff sway bars
