G** D#@# Peice of $#!^....

I spent the whole day to day working on my car installing all the parts my self.

Exhaust went on fine,
Turbo timer wired up,
BOV works but have very rough Idle (will fix later when I get the time and $$$$ to head off to a dyno and get the car tuned.)
Finally intercooler and hard piping.....
The aluminum pipes would not fit easily, so I decided to opt to have a shop install them later. I removed my front bumper to see if I could fit the intercooler in with out losing my fog and well it did not work. I took my fog lights out went to try again, did not fit still. So I call my friend who works a speed shop near by. He comes over and says " You will need to cut you front bumper a little, you need to get two of your pipes bent a little more, and the turbo is to small. (He was joking about this part as he said I should up to a T3/T04b or larger to even think about hanging with his RX-7). So I go to put the Intercooler away and it slips out of my hand and hits the edge of one of my jacks bending one of the cores quite badly. If you imagine a intercooler looks like this ||| mine now looks like this ||(. So I will need to take it all to a shop to have it installed and fixed.

Total time spent working 10 hours and 32 mins, non stop.

Also I was thinking of having the whole thing powder coated black so that it is harder to see from the front what do you all think?

How long would it take to install a Turbo Timer and Boost Controller? Becuase I just paid a shop and they said it would take 6 hours altogether ;\

i had a turbo timer in my other RX-7 and it didn't take long at all, then again it did come with a nice plug-n-play harness. as far as the boost controller goes that shouldn't be too bad either. just have to figure out the right spot to put it4, maybe run some extra vaccume line and then into the cabin of the car. probably not 6 hours though, did they have you any KY when you agreed to what they said?

Powder coating the IC core itself is not a good idea. It will reduce the thermal efficiency. Anodizing it, on the other hand, is not a bad idea and can also add some hardness to the surface.

Did you take any pictures of your ordeal?

JasonH.... Thanks for the advise.
but sorry to say I dont have access to a digital camera. I am planning on getting one soon though. I was thinking a Nikon 5.0 megapixel. Not sure though.

See why do you need a freaking 5.0 megapixels. Unless you're a professional photographer 3 or 3.1 megapixels is more than plenty. But that's just my thoughts.

PA_MP3_Man is Right...

Because a camera around 3.3 Megapixel will give you pictures of a very good size.

The thing is that buying the top model is in this case (IMHO), not necessarily the best choice...

Big images use a lot of memory which makes them heavy for e-mails, specially if your friends and family have dial-up connections. Of course you can down-size with photoshop or microsoft photo editor, but then you would be sub-utilizing the camera...

More important things are: At least a 3x OPTICAL zoom, because digital zooms just fake close-ups making the pictures grainny; A good rechargable battery so you don't run out of power in an hour or so, in the middle of your favorite auto show; And external memory card capability, so you can always buy something better than the typical 8MB crap that comes with most cameras...

Personally I choose a Sony DSC-S75 (3.3 Megapixels) over a DSC-S85 (4 Megs) a year ago because of above reasons, and I've discovered throughout this time, it was a very good choice. I only use the maximum resolution 5% of the time, and the image quality and battery duration are great...

Later, and sorry about the intercooler!:(
FEDE.

yeah and then you can get a 3.1 MGPX for less than it retales for and a whole lot more less than your 5 MGPX one. need vs want. think of the more cool shtuff you could buy for your car for what you'd save

Just the muffler?

Turbo timer wired up

Do you have the wire colors so others can install theirs?

BOV works but have very rough Idle (will fix later when I get the time and $$$$ to head off to a dyno and get the car tuned)

Your rough idle is caused by that BOV, since it no longer vents back into the intake, you will always have problems unless you use a stand-alone ecu with a MAP sensor or use the S-AFC to try and tune the stumbles away after shift. The idle will always be a problem.

First off, you bought an intercooler that you didn't even check to see if it fit first? Along with pipes you didn't know would fit or not?
You might want to measure everything before stuffing parts in there that don't fit.

Nikon 2.14 mpx camera works wonderfully...
This is a pic I took in Ireland...not the full size, but at full size its even clearer...
Sorry, really off topic, but I figured I'd share...

Exactly, the powdercoating will act as insulation for the core and keeping the heat in rather than transferring it to the air passing over. bad idea

i havent heard anything about anodizing so you might want to look into that

My friend wired it up for me I will ask him tonight, and will post it up for all you.

Yes and no, I had a shop near by build me custom pipping. From the cat back. 2 3/4" the whole way.

Plan on getting S-AFC for a while then eventually going for a full stand alone.

I know I was an idiot. I was in to much of a rush to run more boost and did not stop to think if it would fit until after it was bought.

On another not is your specV going to be used by injen?

David

They want to use it, but i'm selling it so I don't know if I'll keep the parts on after its done. I have some friends with Spec V's so I might sell the parts to them.
