Future Mazda 3?

that wouldnt be too hard to imagine since ford has the turbo awd focus RS overseas, but who knows with these car companies and their fickle ways.

I thought i would check. I am debating on whether or not i am going to buy a new car now or wait another year or two. i have a lot of miles on my car. its an 04 and i have 75k. KBB says i should have around 40k

AWD is more comon than ever now, its only a matter of time, not really worth talking about as it is years away. If the MS3 sells well and the MS6 doesn't maybe they will make fwd speed 3's and awd speed 3's.

I heard from a guy at Mazda (Mazdaspeed Motorsports actually) that they aren't planning an AWD MS3. Price would be higher, car would be heavier AND slower and they think they've hit a sweet spot of the market here. For $23K, nothing comes close so I'd have to agree.

If they could get more power to make it faster than the FWD MS3 even with the extra weight and AWD powertrain loss, then maybe they could do it but it'd still be $2K minimum more expensive. Today, closest thing is Volvo S40/V50 T5 AWD (same chassis as Mazda 3 with turbo 5cyl, 218hp, 236 ft-lbs, 6sp) but it's like $30K

100% not true for this generation of Mazda3. Haven't heard it for the next-generation either (2009).

Ford no longer has an AWD Focus anywhere. They have the Focus ST which is similar to the MS3 (similar chassis) but is FWD.
