I have been goin through teh LSD thread and have noticed that there has been no warning at all. I think mine is doing something funny or it may just be normal but it doesnt sound or feel right.

When I make a hard right turn out of my driveway I can hear a loud thump/clunk coming from the passenger front wheel area. Also when I get on it from 1st gear. Its clunk clunk and almost feels if the LSD is slipping a bit then catching and making a the noise. Its very hard to explain. I have no wheel hop but it seems the noie is coming from the drivetrain, you can feel it in the steering wheel. My woman is with me and she said is sounds like the front end is going to fall off and to go easy on it..

Would it be the LSD? I may have to run to Fairfax next week and have the Dealer look at it...But i dont want to remove all my s***.. If it's an LSD and I have a CAI will they void the warenty to the drivetrain?

ITs not quite like this but simular sounding..

No warning, mine went while cruising in 2nd gear trying to get around some drunk guy and then it just revved. no more acceleration nothing. No warning.

LSD problems are no joke... I knew this one guy that got flashback and stabbed himself to death because he thought he was covered in snakes.

On a related note, the bulk of LSDs that break will do so with little or no warning.

i knew this guys that while passing a slow vehicle on the left lane of oncoming traffic, the lsd faield and he was puverized......<<<BAH

OMG, that was too funny Puck!

Seriously, several guys have had theirs break, but break in a way that allowed to two parts to continue to mesh...meaning you could still drive the car at light throttle/load. It's possible.

To be on the safe side, I would remove the CAI. My area stealership informed me that Mazda has gotten waaaay more serious lately about warranty issues on the MSP.

You could have a bad CV shaft. That will cause a clunking sound as well when turning. I hope for your sake its not the LSD.

I remember reading somewhere on the forum that you can weld the lsd to fix or make lsd stronger. Is any one have done it before the lsd fails?
If this is possible I want to do it. Just let me know how, so I can tell the welder. I really dont want to stuck on the road while thinking how I supposed to pay the LSD repair.
