Funny: Against CF? Discuss.

i think it's like a lot of mods...if done in excess, it's becomes over the top and tacky. i never really liked cf but i sport a small amount of it, rear valance. i'm thinking of getting the front air dam in cf too, maybe.

I love the cf on your car, and I really don't think it's in excess. I saw a 350z the other day with an ENTIRE cf front and trunk and sideskirts...that was over the top. Otherwise, yours is nice except that lame cf gas cover.

Single most retarded modification next to APC tail lights. It serves no practicle purpose other then to waste money. I love how people can't wait to buy CHEAPER parts for there car. An OEM hood from mazda that has been professionaly painted will cost almost $1K, yet people can't LOVE to swap it out for a useless piece of s*** carbon fiber hood that doesn't even fit aswell for $500.

Another example of this redicoulus need to upgrade is the people with STi's that swap out the factory equipt $700/apeice forged wheel for some cheap cast 18" junk $300/apeice wheel.

Maybe its just me but I think people should UPGRADE not down grade. Carbon fiber mods would be like me swapping out the factory speakers with the 2" drivers from computer speakers AND ACTUALY PAYING FOR IT!
Why on earth does anyone scrap a perfectly good $1000 hood for a cheap $500 paper weight?

I hate you all.

Carbon fiber = teh gehy

it's gay...but most people know that i feel that way about CF. when done in MODERATION, it's ok...but otherwise, why waste the $$?

WOrd!
If they need to waste the money this badly they should just send it to me, I'll fly out, meet them, kick them in the sac, spray paint and bend their hood out of alignment. :D

and give them $500?

CF looks perfectly fine...................................................

On a black car. (ughdance)

Hey not all things fit poorly and some people do CF not for the weave but for the weight reduction.

It would be nice to have a CF Hood/Trunk but I wish it wasn't in the weave, I just want lightweight and CF is a easy way to go. And my car is black so it won't stand out as much lol.

But the people with the CF stickers (you know who you are) that is teh lam3n3ss. Interior covered in fake CF is just wrong, but not as wrong as a gas cover.......that's just wrong. I think they can hang you in Kentucky for that.

(All in good fun :))

BS!
Its not enough of a reduction to show even a 0.01 second reduction at the track in any style race. 99.9% of the people with them would be better off going on Jenny Craig.
Its a totaly useless modification.

Carbon fiber is meant to be strong and light good for aerospace parts (cool) The car isnt a spaceship so carbon fiber loses in my book. I dont even like the pseudo pseudo carbon fiber that comes factory on the MSP radio bezel.

I think CF can look good on certain cars, and some people dop show their cars, and for some reason, CF raises your points in most cases. Also, in some cases, I think it adds a nice look to a car, when done in very spareingly moderation....Matt, hate to say this, but your car is an example of CF overdoing. I think a simple hood, if it fits perfectly, and is in no danger of flying up on the highway and poping my windshield is ok...maybe a few other parts...and yes, it's only for looks, unless you have a full, REAL cf body shell...but then theres this thing called structural integrity that gets lost there. Covers of CF...thats kinda gay, but, like I said, it gets points in shows, so if thats what your going for, giver. Also, I think on certain vehicles the CF tails look ok, but just do not belong on others. There are some good examples of this on here, for both sides of the story. I think the exterior of matts car looks pretty good, MINUS the gas tank, but otherwise, the CF flows well with his colour, and it's obvious he didn't go out like every other rice boy, and throw on random parts, he actually has a THEME, no miscellaneous CF here, chrome there, Vinyl here and there, unpainted body piece etc. Overall, CF looks ok in some situations, and the only bit of CF I will ever waste my money on is a hood..not OEM, but an EVO style hood(which I will hopefully be incorperating a custom cold air duct into). ANd yes, I said waste my money, but hey, CF does look good in moderation....matt, lose the gas tank door please...the car will look so smooth again.
