Full size spare tire?

Don't do it. Who needs to carry around an extra 20 pounds for the 10 miles you'd have to drive to get the tire fixed? Well unless you live in area where your tires see much pop'age.

Buuuut, if you all want to go nuts with it I have two stock wheels collecting dust....

well, I make frequent 360 mile trips. And the last time I made that trip, I got a flat in the middle on a Sunday evening. Nobody was open so I had to stay the night in a shady motel. I wish I had a full size spare to get me the rest of the 180 miles back.

I carry a full size spare (travel 2000mi trip once a month or so) and it didnt fit when I tried but I didnt try very hard.

Im going to go and try right now.

Done and done, fits great, even a little extra room, with stock size, in an 03.5.
I removed the spare with built in sub long ago. (it is for sale/trade btw...)
I assume that the well is the same size on the pre 03's, but whatever.

I run 205/45/16 and they look like they will fit also, but they are basically the same as stock.
I only had to remove the foam in the bottom of the well, not from the underside of the decking. When I tried originally I dont think that I removed all my sh1t from the rear which seemed mostly necessary.

I think that a wider tire would sit up higher and distort the cardboard over time, but the foam you removed could p[robably be reinstalled to make up most of the difference...might need and additiopnal piece or two.

(attention)

Just wanted to add that I didnt remove any plastic or anything to get the tire in, just had to make sure the deck was lifted up all the way.

Kraziefox's pic has his removed but it is not necessary.

Thanks Wagon, I'll have to pick up a full size steelie somewhere nearby me...
