Fujita CAI Installed on the MazdaSpeed6.

well yea i know this, but is this the only reason?
i thought i read on here someone sayin somethin bout waitin for spring to put it on cause its too cold?

I think that was me, im nervouse we have a lot of Snom in montreal, and im nervous to get water in there.... some people told me they blocked the wheel wall slits with duck tape, but that seems too sketchy

i think im just gonna get the injen hydro shield or just wait for cobb's SRI...

Hydro shield is crap and in many cases will hinder the air flow into your filter/intake. just FYI (2thumbs)

i have work in an hour, so i wont be able to put it on today.

That's what a few people I know have said when they tried to use one (not on a mazdaspeed6, but a CAI on their car).

I don't think it would trap hot air in there, there's no "vents" in the front, the vents are in the rear.... if anything I think the vents are supposed to serve as airflow to the brakes/surround parts of brakes.

your CAI should still suck in coldair when you're driving. It's the same situation with the COBB SRI anyway, when you're sitting at a light, there's no moving air, so you're just sucking in the warm air surrounding the hot engine, which is also the same situation with eh corksport FMIC using the topmount for the air filter.

Honestly CAI's are the best for any car as it draw in cooler air.

Any sri will be pulling into warmer air due to fact it's in the engine bay.

Of course there is more risks with a CAI but I think as long as you drive wisely..you should be fine w/ CAI.

About the cold weather..it's just hearsay..as i have ran it through the winter and did not experience fuel cut or any cel's.

or you could get the autoexe SRI with it's heatshield (screwy) 900 bucks, WOOOO! Holla Balla.....

Actually if they had a setup that was like the mustangs, it'd be nice. My friend's mustang cobra, when he runs at the track he removes the passenger headlight, and it exposes the intake.

If you're so worried about water, run the hydroshield in the winter months and take it off come spring time. I usually clean the filter twice a year (spring & fall) so that would be a perfect time to take it off/put it on.

I'll probably pick up a hydroshield and put it on in Oct or Nov, run it till March or April when the weather warms up. If you have 2 sets of wheels, I'd swap it at the same time you swap the wheels.

So did you install it?
Any problems with it again?
I also live in Montreal and have the Fujita CAI...
For my part, I think Montreal is maybe just too humid...
Even with hydroshield and blocking the wheel vents..
I'd like to hear how yours is doing!
