Fuel Injector Cleaner ...

Does any one use this stuff? Any preferences?

Have an oil change with Castrol Syntec coming up and am wondering what to use on the 5.

Thanks

Seafoam or Lucas. Either one is good and both do a good job at keeping the fuel system clean when added to the tank.

I've started using lucas. It also comes in a huge jug (for cheap) and would last you for a very long time.

Well just did the oil change this past weekend. It went pretty smooth with the DIY from this site. I decided to use something with Tactrol, supposedly similar to Techron. The car seems to be driving much smoother, don't know if that is because of the full synth, the Tactrol, or my brain and the placebo effect.

sorry for sorta highjacking.....but i was looking at the seefoam yesterday and it also said you can add in line....how do you do that or is there a how to???

You are doing this to your Mazda5? What year? You shouldnt need to clean your injectors. Additives like that are not always a good idea. Also, the 2.3 does not need synthetic fluids per say. You will not notice any results between conventional or syn. Manual calls for conventional.

Adding the right ones are a great idea regardless of miles. Especially with the crappy up to 10% ethanol in fuel today. I use both of the ones mentioned w/o issue in all my cars. Just don't go crazy by adding an excessive amount frequently.
