Fuel efficiency issue?

I'm using a 2024 GT CX-5.

Recently met with an accident which resulted in replacing hood and front bumper completely.

Before giving my car to collision center for repairs, the fuel efficiency was great. On a full gas tank, it used to give me ~650kms range. When compared with kms on odometer, the range was accurate.

But after receiving my car after repairs, I see difference between the kms on odometer and fuel range.

The google maps, from point A to point B, shows 30kms. The odometer shows +30kms but the range drops by atleast ~45kms.

If vou see, point A to B Odometer - (41804- 41774) = 30kms Fuel range- (602-560) = 42kms

I tested this over a week. 1 full gas refill would last me 1week but now I need to refill twice a week.

I would like to see if anyone has experienced similar and how they fixed it.

You sure you were getting 650 km per tank? Is this all highway miles? I have never gotten that and I've been driving CX-5's since 2014, but I am not an all-highway driver. If so, that's great as it's around 32-33 mpg. Well above average.

Normally the CX-5 gets around 500km between fill-ups or 26 mpg average.

Yes. I have been observing very keenly. My everyday run, mostly on highway 401, is around 110-120kms. One refill would easily last me a week or atleast 6 days.

I can get that mileage on the highway. But I'm not on the highway full-time, so my average is in line with most others. 300-325 miles per tank.

Keep in mind that range is just an estimate based on current fuel use rate and speed and will vary a lot.

That said, if your fuel consumption has really gone down and this isn't just a reading error, it's possible that your computer is relearning like when it was new. See if it returns to normal automatically within a week or two.

Okay. I'll see if it returns to normal.

Question:
After replacing front bumper along with sensors, does the system/software needs to recalibrate? If yes, how do I check if the calibration is done correctly?

Home to office is just 8.3kms but the driving range went down by 18kms 😳. Strange. Drive is within 50-60kms speed limit.
