I want this.....any interest in a built and boosted cobra?

Pm for info if interested. My best friend has one of these and i love driving it!

I have been considering trades, but not for modded cars as clearly evidenced by the difficulty in selling this one they don't sell all that well and I am trying to reduce the number of cars I have in the end here. A boosted ST would be a riot to drive though I'm sure :)

Final price update people... I can't go any lower than this. If it doesn't sell at this price by mid september I will begin disassembling and selling off the parts of the car.

thanks!!

Steve

Damn... I'd love to buy the motor so much, but I'm currently trying to be smart and save for smart things, like a house :)

The motor stills tempts me.

Dang, I just met a local guy that drove to Racine, WI to get an msp, it is stock with 32,xxx mi and he paid $13,000. If he only would've known.....

There's gotta be someone out there that will buy this!

You would think! It's cheap enough. I'm basically lubing up with vaseline to take in the arse on this one, but I literally have put 350 miles on it this year, and really can't justify keeping it in the stable anymore. I figure I can probably sell the car reverted back to stock for about 6500 to 7,000 and can make a reasonable amount selling off the parts. So this price is below what I'd get with doing that, but I don't have to put in all the labor and tears doing it!

For reference I'm thinking 4K on the engine. It's built better and to more detail than anything you can buy out there and most of the short blocks I see run above 3500. And this is a long block with full P&P and valve work etc. The last protege long block I built MY cost with my accounts on it was about 4200 and that had nowhere near the build level of what my engine does (that was just a basic build putting in forged internals and new gaskets). my block cost me just shy of 10K when I built it (I had over 3K in machine time alone with no parts!).

Hey turfburn, the guy I was talking to you about here in CO changed his mind. He got pulled over 3 times in the last 5 days and has decided to reorganize his priorities. Sorry.

You said you're looking to get about 350 for the welded LSD. Is it still in the car, or do you have a spare? Will that only be sold if you can't sell the car as a whole?

Yeah, the LSD will only be sold if I start parting out the car. I'll put the open diff back in the car.

hey turfburn it's me josh....from la crosse, wi...did you sell your car this morning?...cuz i still want to buy it

Not literally no. It's still available. He is going to do a couple of things and then plans to take the car to his garage to have them look at it to decide if he can get it serviced by then. If they can service it etc then he'll likely buy it. He said it was the most fun thing he had ever driven and that it was more refined and streetable than the stock mazdaspeed Protege he drove. Dude was smiling ear to ear. So it was fun for me. But he also said that he couldn't commit solidly at this point so if I found someone else to buy it that it was no issue if I sold it before he got back to me. So you are still free to take a shot. I had some guys up from Iowa to have a car tuned this morning as well (626 with an auto, corksport motor, nitrous, turbo, etc... fun/interesting car actually) and one of those guys wants the car badly but doesn't have a job right now. As soon as he gets one he said he'd be coming up to buy it, but figure it will be about 6-8 weeks. Soo... moral of the story is car is still available and you still have some time it looks like, but interest is finally showing up in earnest on the car.

I basically don't expect it to go anywhere in the next week roughly unless you come down by then. so I wouldn't hurry/rush yourself and I certainly want it to stay in the forums and family and wisconsin too! :)

Later!

Steve

Great car. I am surprised you are having trouble selling it. If I didn't have my MS3, I would be all over it. Good luck!

Interest has been pretty good the last few weeks, but nobody has been able to step up all the way yet.
