Front Tires "Hopping" on Right-Hand Turn

Is this normal? When I am making a right hand turn (sharper than a left) and I give it a little gas the front tires start to hop a little. It kinda feels like I'm trying to peel out, but I don't think the car is supposed to do this. The wheels kind of jump a couple times then get the traction they need and then its fine.
Has anyone else expirenced this?
Do I need an alignment? (I got an alignment in May when I installed blues & a pro-kit.)
Is it my sport-auto transmission?

called wheel hop, and everyone has it... AWR motormounts and/or the Weapon*R engine dampner help

i've put the front and rear AWR mounts on and have completely elimated the wheel hop.

oooooooooooooooooh. (hand) so thats the wheel hop that everyone always talks about. i figured that was a manual-transmission problem. wow i feel stupid. thanks for the help.

I say gun it harder on the turns. If your wheels are flat spinning they at least arent hopping so bad. (cool)

ya if you just get the front motor mount that is easy to install it makes most of the wheel hop go away. it does make your car shake a little more though!!

btw that post by showtege was from me....... i forgot to log him out!! anyway get the front mount replaced and all will be good!!

i found i still got some wheel hop with just the front mount in. now that I have both mounts installed, I get 0 wheel hop. Just wish I had a LSD.

I wouldn't suggest that you apply more power in sharp turns without a LSD.

I did that once on the track and I heard a snap sound. The CV joint didn't break but I supposed that it did buckle under the pressure.

A change in the line through the corner so that I was turning the steering less sharper helped.

so for a daily driver just replacing the front mounts should be good right?
everyone says its easy to install, but what does the install actually entail? there's no "how-to" for installing the mounts.

One alternative is to replace the #3 engine mount with the MSP mount (only works in M/T cars). The MSP mount is stiffer but it won't increase vibration noticeably as in the case of other aftermarket mounts. I've done it and experieced a noticeable reduction (although not total elimination) in wheel hop in addition to less shake at low RPM's with the clutch fully engaged while running in first gear. The only drawback is the cost, ~ $170.

Also, we will re-cast mounts for you and fill them in with a good durometer polyurethane... it nearly eliminates all traces of wheel hop and the final cost on each mount is only 30 bucks.
