front motor mount

Very noticeable difference, power goes straight to the wheels. Great mod. Makes it MUCH smoother.... feels like no turbo... all power.

great investment for my P5. bet it is nice on the MSP, too.......well worth it!

keeps the engine from having all the engine-lash and slop......helps quite a bit with wheel-hop.....

edit: does cause a lot more vibration on idle though.....

Oh and if you have Hardpipes, they wont hit the master cylinder as much anymore.

the first mod one should do to a protege, the stock mount just sucks

I'd say this is pretty much a must have item for the MSP's

Meanwhile I asked Mazda to change my front mount and they did it under warranty. The new one is much more stiff... and it's 100% free! :)

Get it. I put one in and the vibration isn't nearly as bad as everyone says. From how everyone was talking I was thinking my car would be shaking like an earthquake. It is a slight, easy vibration at under 1K rpm.

Get it, the vibration really comes from the rear mount.
I would say, 20% front mount, 80% rear mount.

That is not accurate. I put in the front first to break it in and the car vibrated really bad for the first two weeks now it's ok and I am ready to install the rear. They both create a harsh ride. And logic would dictate that since they support an equal amount of the motor that either mount would contribute to 50% of the vibration. If anything the front would cause more vibration since it supports the bottom of the motor and the rear is more of a pivot mount.

maybe...but the rear is connected to the firewall, which is closer to the cabin

the front one WILL vibrate the cabin...until it is broken in. but it's nothing mayor
the rear one will vibrate a whole lot more, specially during 700-1100 rpms, once it's broken in...it won't be as bad

So would yall recommend to replace both at once or do the one first then the one in the back? And if yall could a link where I can them for a good price?

I disagree with you completely.
I installed just the front one first by myself, car felt good, a tiny bit of vibration. I drove it like that for a month. This was in the spring.
I then had the dealer do the rear beginning of summer. My whole dash rattled, squeaked, vibrated etc.
They had since calmed down somewhat. But still bad.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and i took off most of my mods for the winter, including the front mount.
The car still vibrates, rattles, squeaks etc, only very slightly less than when i had both mounts in.
There is more weight on the rear mount than the front, and it's attached to the firewall, like someone already said.
MAYBE it's 30% front, 70% rear, but there is no way in hell it's 50-50.
If i had the chance to do it all again, I would have done just the front and left the rear until it tore.

The front one you can do yourself in 10-20 minutes with the right tools.
The rear one invloves a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and time or a trip to the dealer/garage.

Well seeing as how you did not do the install yourself you have no idea how much weight is actually on the front and rear mounts. I have installed both myself and the rear is more of a pivot mount, but perhaps because it is mounted to the firewall it creates more vibration. Not to mention that the two side mounts hold the motor more than the front and rear when the car is not moving. This is easy to notice because when you install the front and rear mounts there is no need for a jack to support the motor it is held in place by the two side mounts, but those have little effect on forward and back motion while acelerating and decelerating. Front mount for decelerating and rear mount for acelerating. But I did not come in here to start a flame war so I will leave it at that. I have my opinion and you have yours.
