past couple days ive been randomly getting this strange noise that sounds like i have a flat tire, but the sounds repeats fast. I hear it more on de-cel and cruising then i do when accelerating, and i dont always get it. i can also kinda feel it in the steering wheel, which makes me think its front end issue, but with my mods idk if i wanna bring to a dealer and have them tell me to f off due to mods. Has anyone else had anything similar to this, or might have a way for me to figure it out? worst comes to worst ill go to the dealer n bite the bullet.

Have you check to see if it really was a flat? haha

No I'm kidding but wheres your location, do you get ice/snow?

Just go back to stock . . . At least take out most of it like intakes / bpv / test pipes / gauges. Better spend a couple hours doing that than to get red flagged.

Sounds like a CV joint on its way out. Warranty should take care of it.

+1. Look underneath and see if there is axle grease sprayed on the control arms or in the fender well. If the boot has torn and the grease is contaminated, your CV joint will eventually go.

lol i knew someone would try it. im in VA, and its been cold past couple weeks, little snow and ice occasionally

Man i was hoping you guys wouldn't say that lol, i just put my motor mounts on 2 weeks ago and they were a b**** to get lined up. The tranny mount was the hardest, but you cant see it so i might leave that n take the side mount off.

i bought the car modded, think i can get away with the "it was already on the car when i bought it from you " haha, i know a long shot. think id b easier to just buy one and not go through the hassle?

Well some people have said they have gotten more of a whine from the tranny now that they have a tranny mount... But ya definitely check the condition of the boot.

As far as doing it yourself, I think it wouldn't be a good idea. If you do it yourself and something with the tranny goes wrong down the road (and still under the warrenty) they wouldn't like seeing/knowing you changed the axle yourself.

Bring it to the dealer as close to stock as you can. But definitely put the stock mounts on.

well if i take off the damn mount its not going back on haha, i enjoy the feel but the whine is a lil annoying. i could deal with it if it didn't have to come on and off every visit, but o well. ill keep em around if someone wants em cheap, the tranny mount is all scratched to hell from shipping, but the motor mount i will put back on seeing its easy enough.

ok update, said its the bearing on top of the strut on the drivers side. overnighted from mazda but wont get till friday morning so be done friday.

and i didnt even need to take off the dmn mounts, the mechanic at the dealer is a Speed fanatic, his GF drives a speed6 and hes in love with it. asked me about my mods and what all are good steps, just cool overall. make sure i bring it back to him in the future.

Are they replacing the whole strut assembly or just the bearing?

Sorry I asked about an update in the other thread, didn't check here first.

Oh ya remember the guys name and if you go in again specifically ask for him to do your services. Or make your services around when hes available.

i think hes gonna do just the bearing, if he did the strut well thats all good too lol, but dosent matter to me looks like im set on coilovers now.

yea,if anyone ever goes to Crossroads ford/lincoln/mazda in colonial Heights, VA and u need the tech's name let me know
