My wife accidently hit a parking guard yesterday and now one of the front bumper clips from the passenger Side are broken. Is there a way to fix this that anyone knows of? Should I take it to the dealer and hope they don't charge an arm/leg? It is the clip fom the bumper it self, not from the car. Haha any help would be great.

I did the same thing on a driveway that was more of a curb than anything since I lowered my car. Took it in to Mazda and they charged me 5$ to fix it. They didn't replace the clip or anything but it was fixed for a while. Now its sticking out a little again. Need to revisit them!

Quick fix: get rid of the wife! Or just don't let her drive the MS3. Just zip tie if you want to go ghetto, or hit up the stealership for OEM goods.

5 bucks eh? Not bad. Haha she drives the car as much as I do because it's our family car. I gotta be conservative with suspension and wheel set up because I gotta accomodate to her also. Thanks for the suggestions.

your ****** same thing happened to me. You have to replace the whole bumper or rig it to fixed the ripped bumper part. It started off sticking out a little but its the bumper thats ripped and it wont connect to the tabs, so now I need a new bumper I tried rigging it with some clips from hd but it didnt work out.

Shiittt I hope that's not the case. If so I'll figure something out. It's only one of the tabs that are ripped.

I did this a year back after I hit a pothole concealed by a big puddle while exiting a driveway. Bottomed out the front end. I regularly adjust it by tapping it with my fist. Last night I ****** it further pulling out of a friend's parking spot (had to back straight out thanks to a car parked all close to one side of me (argh)

I'm never lowering this car... it already has more trouble with driveways than my lowered Miata. (hah)

I had to use some older style "dashboard screw plates" they look like a folded piece of metal so you can clip it on to something thin, they also have a screw hole in the middle. you just need to slip them on and then drill a hole on the clipped material. You can get them at any auto store. Sometimes they are made by the HELP brand.

Your picture looks exactly like what happened to my car.

That is not a "clip", it is a tab/hole that receives a screw. You need to recreate the "hole".

It was on my passenger side.

I fixed it by doing this.

1.Crank the wheel all the way to the left, get under your car and remove the plastic connectors that attach the wheel well plastic to access the screw that should go through that broken tab.

2. Remove the screw that should go through that tab.

3. Pull the bumper out (like in the pic).

4. Push the tab back as close to original as possible.

5. Using some very strong (Gorilla brand) tape, fold it over the tab (Two pieces about 1.5 inches long).

6. Punch a little pilot hole in the tape.

7. Back under the car, in the wheel well, drive the screw back in. Piercing the tape, and into the original hole. If it is not lining up, remove the tape and try again.

8. Replace the wheel well plastic connectors.

Sorry, no pics.

Looks great, lasted a few months so far, I see no reason it will come undone again. Unless I drive onto something that rips it out (again).
