Front Brakes Not Working

I have just replaced the brakes on a 2005 Mazda 3. The rear brakes were noticably worn while the fronts looked barely used. When the new front brakes were installed it is now very noticable that the brakes at not applying due to the rust on the rotors. What would cause the front brakes to stop working? The front brakes now rub slightly and caue a loud noise. Any ideas?

is the bias screwed up?? did you bleed them to make sure no air bubbles? i would probably check those two things first.

there are so many variables to this question. What exactly did you replace? the "front brakes" is too vague to help too much...

You need to take them back off and start all over. Proper install, pushing the piston back in without damaging boot, bleeding. The rust would be gone the first second you applied the brakes, they wouldnt "brakes not working" for any longer than that.

after re-reading the op i didn't notice that he changed the brakes when they didn't need it... i would agree with speedster3 there is prob something wrong with your install...

which is why it is important to figure out exactly what he actually replaced/did

by the sound of the op i would assume just pads but you never no so yeah what exaclty was replaced is a good place to start...
