FREE!!!! ????????????????- Pay it Forward (READ POST #1 FIRST!)

In keeping with the generous spirit of ghetto waggon's original thread, here is version II.

For the new people to the thread: What we are trying to accomplish here is a place to come and get an item for free (or shipping cost) and in turn you offer up something in equal value to the community. This is not a TRADE thread. If you want what is up for grabs then you claim that and put up what you have up for grabs.

Version I was getting a little cluttered and confusing. Here is what we are going to keep as "rules" for this thread.

- Only one offering at a time can be available. (if you have tons of things you would like to give away regardless of taking what is available, by all means, start your own thread ) If more than one item is posted I (evilmonkeyMSP) will delete the post and PM the member to hold off.

- No "dibs" to search for something to put up. The first person with something to offer up in exchange gets the current item up and cannot back out once they have taken the previous item (especially if that item has already been shipped to them)

- A picture of the item would be nice but a proper forum pic will only be required if money is exchanging hands (ie: Shipping).

- If an item does not go after 1 full week it will be taken off and someone else can offer something new.

- The next item offered cannot be put up/taken until the previous offer is confirmed to be going to the person who requested it.

For example: Poster #1 puts up spark plugs and poster # 2 wants them and in turn offers up a mazda shirt in turn. Until Poster #1 aknowledges that Poster #2 is getting the spark plugs Poster #2's item cannot be taken.

- The item replacing an item that is being taken should be relatively equal in value. If you need to offer multiple items to replace the one you are taking, this can be done. No trading a turbo in exchange for a mazda pen (evil).

This is hopefully to help keep things less confusing.

We want to keep this going for as long as possible. I will try and monitor the thread as much as possible, and evilmonkeyMSP will moderate as needed.

I have some OLD APC (remember them?) Sport Vision Mirrors just sitting in my apartment collecting dust. If someone wants em, take em! Just pay shipping, please. Get these out of my possession!

I'll also put up for the thread, a 20 count set (could be 16 if I lost a few) of Gorilla Lug Nut locks. Black in color. I have to double check all lugs are there with adapter key, but these too are sitting in my apartment collecting dust. They are 12.5mm in size and I think (?) acorn shaped.

You guys really need to look at how this works. A set of MSP pistons will very likely kill this thread, so if you guys wanna go do a deal, thats all well and good, but I just kick started this thread with a set of springs worth well over a hundred bucks, and to 99.9% of people, used MSP pistons are worthless.

Currently we have a flip-top cupholder for the Gen3 Protege available. Who wants it and what are you putting up in its place?

I looked over the thread and do understand how it works. However, what is up for grabs is something I dont need. Im putting up something for free to Pay it Forward and in return I get nothing out of it, which is fine. If I take the flip top cupholder, which I already have on my Sedan, then its going to do the same thing that the mirrors and lug nuts did. Would be a waste for me to snatch them up if I dont need them, see what Im saying?

Because those cup holders arent also worthless to 99.9% of people. It's been a week and no one wants them. Time for a New item. I'm not trying to dis your thread, I just think it need reworking. And not so much clutter about things best kept to pms. Ie installation procedure etc.

Its far from my thread... However this thread is one of those community builders thats always a lot of fun if well managed. I've personally seen that console piece sell for $50+. You know how? I wanted one for my car but wasn't willing to pay that much. Don't have the car so its not exactly relevant, but there has been so much turnover in the community since this thread was active, I fully expect it to take a while to get going again.

i think it's debatable if the cup-holder is worth $50 to someone, since the protege is a dieing breed.

I'm not suggesting it still is, that was 3 years ago. My point is only that there is a market for it, compared to used MSP pistons which may or may not be even usable (seeing as if you have an engine apart to that point stock bore in any vehicle with mileage on it is most likely not an option).

However, we're trying to bring this thread back from the dead, so I would say a 1 week deadline is WAY short given it sat dormant for 10 months. If we get it rolling with solid activity again, I'd say that 1 week is reasonable.. but by your logic I should have taken the springs down too, which means this thread would be NOWHERE.
