2006 Mazda 3i
I recently last Sept. bought me a Mazda3 drive to work car (that's how they all start out) anyway I wanted to keep miles off my truck. Problem is I never drive my truck now I like the Mazda so much we drive it everywhere we leave the wife's ride at home too and take the Mazda. I bought the car with 48,000 on it and it had been in a slight fender bender they had put on a new headlight and fender and repaired the rear door. Anyway the paint is already coming off and on closer inspection I discovered they didn't even sand it before they shot the paint! unbelievable anyway I like the car so much I have put one of my restorations on hold and started getting this thing ready to paint and I am planning to put it back to like new condition. I picked up a good door at a local salvage and I ordered 600 dollars in parts and etc.. this weekend. I am currently wet sanding the door down for primer and I have decided to change the color from sand to Arctic White I have the paint ordered. Anyway I wanted to keep a write up of my rebuild and will post some pictures soon.

Well I got some parts in on Thursday, my wing, primer, activator, reducer, grease remover and clear coat. Friday my outer tail lights came and according to the tracking system the base coat will be here on Monday and the inner tail lights will be here Tuesday. I worked on the roof last night and Friday evening. Today I sanded part of the roof the passenger side when the clear came off it looked like 2 inch packaging tape. I used a razor to remove it and the finish underneath was factory and perfect. Can't believe they cleared it especially without sanding first the bumpers are the same way. but then the other parts are sanded to much and weren't fine sanded before paint thus the ugly sanding marks showing through the paint and clear. I'll get some more pictures(wow) soon.

thanks,

Dang yea sounds like a cheap Macco job. That is a lot of peeling. In for progress.

Glad you were able to also host the pics. Try adding the
with the pictures as well. That will pop them on here as visible pictures and not as links. You can also hit the above picture frame button next to what looks like a movie reel to the left of the ABC spell check button here on the quick reply box or advanced window. Another window will pop up and you just past the URL of the picture in the slot and it will show it like I have done below.

I got allot done last weekend got most of the bumper cover sanded, also the front pass fender, drivers door, and rear drivers quarter. Had to put it on hold a couple of days I have a guy coming from KY to pick up one of my cars and another from out of town coming to look at one. Been putting on a water pump and working on wipers the last couple nights. But after Saturday I will be back on the Mazda full tilt.

Still working on the 3, I will get some current pictures up soon. This heat is putting on the brakes on my body work but I still have been getting some of it done.
