Forge BPV & TRZ Solid Mount review

there should have been a small o-ring yes. i don't have any extras on hand but i can get Forge to send you one if you PM me your address.

Installed the TRZ MM with Delrin bushing today and wow, what a difference. I agree this was a great mod for only $100. The car drives sooooo much smoother now and feels much stiffer. The Vibration with the Delrin bushing is very noticeable though, so those wanting a similar ride to stock or not much vibration, I advise against the Delrin bushing. I actually love it though, you really feel the exhaust and the engine rumble. It reminds me of my old Cobra Drag car I think it make the car more like a hot rod!!!

Again, a QUALITY piece from TRZ and install took about 5 minutes on the lift with the impact gun.

Thanks CPT K, PM sent!

What is the worst thing that can happen when using the Forge?
MS3 is my first turbo car so I don't if its working right or not.

i do not feel that there can be any damage by running a Forge bypass valve on this car

installed my Delrin TRZ mount and Forge BPV on the weekend as well! Delrin mount is awesome and the vibes aren't bad at all!!
the Forge BPV does well and is an aquired sound to get use to - i think its the sound of the spring bouncing around which gives that noise - if you could find a way to keep it still yet work then that noise wouldn't be there.
both products are great!

The spring does not bounce around. It's in there snug.

im pretty sure if you tapped the inside part of the bpv then you'd hear a similar sound to what the bpv lets off when off the accelerator. anyway - thats the best i could come up with for the sound for a way to fix it

I agree that its the spring causing the sound... Piston is hitting the valve body due to the spring tension getting released from boost -or- vacuum -or- both. My wonder is if the piston aluminum (tiny pieces) that gets shaved, nicked, beat up due to the action will make its way to the engine causing extra wear/damage. Ever open yours up after use? You will see bits of aluminum in the cup of the piston. Or maybe its just mine...

its not the spring or anything "clashing" its just the sound the air makes when exiting the valve. it sounds just like an industrial air compressor vent valve.

Okay. Doesn't explain the tiny bits of aluminum in my piston cup... Air can induce friction, but not sure if there is enough friction at work to leave tiny bits of aluminum in my piston cup.

I'll email Angel Robles at Forge and see what he has to say. And the BPV piston is lubed with the same red stuff added at the plant.

i dont have any metal shavings in mine. do you have shims in it ? if so they need to be below the spring not above.

i am in the process of sending mine back to forge. I took it apart again and mine didnt have any metal shavings. I have a question though. The thick metal recirc valve. The thing the bigger hose goes over, if u uncrew it, do u see a gasket there? Cause mine isnt there.

i cant even get that part off of mine !! i didnt take it off the car but i tried to unscrew it while still on. that SOB would not budge for me. i had some good sized pliers on it and i scratched the hell out of it, but it wont move !! call are buddy partick at forge he will tell you..... actually i have his e-mail i will PM it to you .

wtf lol why does mine just fall apart so damn easy. I think i seriously just got a bad one. I will make a video of taking it apart.

i love the mount. This valve on the other hand is starting to piss me off. I like the design, i like the noise, i like the keep it simple stupid concept, but it just gives me problems. The car traps 4 mph slower with this valve on, it stutters and chokes up top in the rpm range. Now if this valve is leaking, that would mean im running CRAZY rich right? I dont even know what to think any more, im just gonna send it back tomorrow and be done with it. If i get a new one i will try it out, if it doesnt work ill just sell it on here. Many people love this thing and a select few are having problems with it.

my forge seems to run fine but havent given it a good top end run yet....
as for the delrin trz mount - thats friggin awesome! ive only had it on a few days and love it - no movement at all, some vibes but i was over it as soon as i put it on - was exepcting a lot more for the stiffness but im a happy TRZ customer!
now to wait for more of there stuff!!
my only problem is shipping to Aussie takes so long that i miss out on all the fun
