i have a question to those with the valve? the price intrigues me so how do you guys feel with this valve have you run other valves are there downsides to this valve upsides etc?

A lot of people say they feel quicker spool up times and stuff over stock one. I'm not sure about that though and would be interested in hearing some more comments too.

i just got one it seems alright it doesnt seem to hold boost better or maybe thats my mbc i dont know. But the noise is different

It comes installed with the yellow spring which is pretty weak; try using the blue spring (if that's too weak, go with the red). I found that to hold boost much better. Much better than stock.

I like the forge valve. Does what it is supposed to do and gives you enough adjustability to tune yourself. Sound is kind of like a mix between the standard BOV chirp and the coin boxes from Super Mario Brothers...

stocker does just fine.. dont fix if it aint broken..
didnt notice any substantial difference.. if any.. in comparison with an aftermarket valve..

i have the forge and love it. i tried a greddy type s and a HKS valve and did not like them. the forge was the cheapest and best. also my stock valves leaks ....A LOT ! i put the stocker back on last week while i was trying to diagnose a noise that i keep hearing under heavy throttle. i saw that my boost was a full 2 psi lower in every gear !! swapped the forge back in and got my boost back !!

+1 Saw a slight improvement when I first installed and since installing the blue spring, boost holds much stronger. I have seen as high as 12 psi in second gear; @ 16psi max 3-6 (CX-7 mind you). With the stocker, I was never able to get higher than 8 psi in second (@ 14psi max 3-6)

Do you have any shims and what spring are you using i cant get mine to hold 18 psi?

Blow off valves are supposed to chirp? The only sound I ever hear from under the hood (other than the engine itself) is a kind of a sigh when I let off the gas. Almost like the car is disappointed that I'm slowing down.

I have the stocker with a CP-e intake, and its much louder than stock. A female friend of mine commented that it sounded like a "death metal sigh."

So when you added an intake, the factory BOV got louder? I think I can support that statement, as I have an MS-CAI installed. The "sighing" got louder and more noticeable after the CAI went in, but I have still never heard anything I would describe as a "chirp" from under my hood. Makes me wonder if I'm making full boost, now that I think about it. I really need to invest in a boost gauge.

Much louder. I couldn't hear anything in the way of turbo noise from the turbo system at all. The intake alone made it quite a bit more noticable, and I LOVE it. At WOT with fast, hard shifts (ala racing), you get more of a chirp-ish noise than the wooshing/sigh noise.
