alrighty! I got everything back together, except the gauge console, and the passenger seat, and it started again! Yeehaw. Unfortunately, I have a sim in the morning, so I have to postpone any further work until tomorrow afternoon. But at least it started. This should be fun.

Just did a full tuning session, until ambient temp in my garage was reaching 45 degs celsius. Then I decided it was time to let everything cool off and take a break. The best part: no bent valves!
I am going to pull it out on the street a little bit later today, though I have to move the boat first. I'm just a little on the excited side again.
I love hearing the sound of the turbo spooling down.

Just one of those small high speed fans and the open garage door. I took a break when the air temp around the engine hit 45 degs celsius. I also took regular breaks when the EGT hit 6-700 degs. That allowed me to do a lot of messing with the fuel map, too, while it idled. I also discovered the engine idled differently at higher temps, and made corrections to the coolant and air temp maps.

Still no vid, been spending all my time testing the car, messing with the fuel map and what not. So far, I have met mostly with success. I do have a significant obstacle, though, especially with the outdoor temps around here (90+). The cooling system has a problem. The fan isn't running at all, and the AC doesn't work. When running the troubleshooting section in the service manual, it is apparent that the AC system and the cooling system are inter-related. I was not aware of that. So I have some work to do, and it is freaking hot outside!

a quicky update. I have been driving around with an exhaust leak (I neglected to replace my exhaust manifold gasket when I put it all back together again) so I ordered a replacement today. It will be in on friday.
Also, I dynoed at 130hp and 132ft-lbs, so there is definitely some gains, especially on the butt dyno, but not as much as I expected because I appear to have a fuel pressure issue. The service manual says I should be getting 450-630kPa (kilopascals) of fuel pressure maximum. I am getting a max of 330. (I just installed a fuel pressure gauge) I also ordered a new fuel pressure regulator today. Hopefully that will fix the problem. That is $80, and if that doesn't work than I will try replacing the fuel pump for $300 and a lot more labor than the regulator. Other than that, all is working well.

I ran into an issue where the bolts were pulling the threads right out of the block on the exhaust side, so I need to fix those, and then I need bigger injectors, since mine aren't big enough to maximize my power. I also have a few things around the car to finish up, like the lighting in the gauges, interior panelling, etc. The most important thing is to get the block retapped and new bolts in place. Still, painting the house and getting it settled for the family is more important. Though I do also need to move the garage stuff around so I can park in there and get work done despite the dropping temps.
Are you referring to the exhasut manifold bolts pulling the threads out of the HEAD? I had that problem, and now may have another stud doing the same thing. If so, I will have to take the turbo and manifold off again to re-tap the hole. It is a pain, cause I have to take the radiator out too.
Exactly. I am going to retap all of them, because they have all been weakened somehow. Likely its me over-torquing.
Sorry, I realize now I said "block". It's the head that's giving me trouble. Is that where you put your studs? Or are you using the stock bolts?
