Does anyone know if the foglights are covered on the mazda bumper to bumper?

One of mine got a crack on it.

I hate to tell you Cowzer but

I don't think the fog light lens would be covered under warranty.

The location of the fog light is too vulnerable for Mazda to cover it.

I equate it to a rock flying up off the road and putting a hole in your bumper or chipping the paint on the hood and Mazda covering that under warranty.

I think the warranty will only cover manufacturing inadequacies and poor craftsmanship that cause some type of failure or unnecessary wear to the vehicle or components.

From Mazda USA's website: (notice the under-lined section)

Mazda "bumper-to-bumper" Limited Warranty

We design and build every Mazda to give you driving pleasure now and far down the road. We're so confident in our quality that we cover the entire vehicle against defects in materials and workmanship for 36 months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. That's 14,000 more miles than you'll get from many of our competitors. We cover the car "bumper-to-bumper"-every Mazda-supplied part from the badge on the grille to the license-plate light to the toot of the horn. It's another way we demonstrate our pride and confidence in every product that wears the Mazda brand name.

I doubt it too....would be the same as a rock hitting your windshield and expecting Mazda to put a new one in for you....not gonna happen.

Of course, if the lens cracked for no apparent reason, or perhaps because of a defect, then you could claim it. However, I'd expect you'd be met with a lot of resistance by the dealer and Mazda.

your SOL buddy...I too got a rock chip in mine and they wanted $175 bucks for a new one....it's not under warranty for rock chips...sorry:D

If you do decide to get a replacement, make sure to cover the new ones with the 3M guard.... or there is another one i am not sure of the name though... when i got my windows tinted they placed 40mm thick 3M on my lights.... dont worry about the headlights though, those are not glass and most likely will not crack unless you hit them with a baseball bat.

I had the tint shop put it in... any tint shop should have it.... the only way it will turn yellow is if your fog lights get REALLY friggin hot lke those 'catz' lights... but ours dont... i always use my lights at night, and i have had no problems for a few months. Its a 40mm thick plastic strip sticky on one side so you can apply it.... im pretty sure its either 3M or stoneguard also comes to mind... i will find out and let you know.

40mm thick! That's more than 1.5 inches... No wonder nothing can get to the lens...lol :D

Good suggestion though, I'll ask the tint guys if it's available here. Thanks.

Where do I get that stuff? Doesn't it turn yellow after a while?

Don't know about tint shops around your place but I found out this product is no longer sold where I live. I was lucky enough to find some left over at $4.95CDN per foot (6" wide strips). So if anybody has a hard time finding it, pm me.
