hey guys. i took my fogs out a while ago to put some film on them and just never put them back in...

you think these would look good in place?

i got a big chip around my foglight and i was gonna spray around that black and i think this would go well with it. i really want something like this, minus the rivets:

sorry, i think those overlays on the evo look out of place, and i don't know how they'd look on the mazda

personally i like fog lights, and ride with them on all the time (at night i mean), even thought they have absolutly no function (at least in this car)

^ yeah, i like them too. just kind of looking to do something a little different.

i don't really like the ones on the evo either. i just mean LIKE those. those type of ducts are used on a lot of cars.

here's a little bit better example of what i'm talking about... something similar to this. either that, or i might just paint the part just outside of the foglight satin black. whether i decide to keep the fogs or not.

It's hard for me to imagine, but I don't think they'll look bad. Maybe if you go with a silver and black theme, it'll blend in better.

yeah, i am doing silver and black. i have semi-gloss black emblems, tinted side markers, i'm doing my wheels semi-gloss black and my calipers lavender. :)

and i wanted to do around my foglights semi-gloss black and maybe the front grill.

one of the really distinctive features of the speeds that differ it from the other 3s is the lip around the fog light lens is painted to match the car. this i feature is really difficult to tell if you see a black one (i mean when you see one really quickly as it drives by, it's the first thing i look for from the front)

im looking at some pics of the red one online at mazdausa and imagine the fog light being filled with black, and i don't think it looks that bad. then i think about the black mica with the same fog overlay, and it makes me think that there's too much black in the front, and that the fog light adds a nice little accent with the reflection inside the housing. kinda difficult to explain.

yeah, i know what you mean. it would make it look a lot like the regular 3's foglights.

i did a bad ms paint of one a while back i might post up to give you a better idea. i still don't know if i'm gonna do it...

there are a lot of things that make the speed 3 stand out other than that though. hood, grill, wing, wheels, calipers, rear diffuser

what i really want is something like on that beamer. a carbon fiber piece that will cover it. like a duct...

hmmmmmmmmmmm thats an interesting thought
I think our fog cut outs are a bit too small to pull it off unless you plan on modding the front bumper, or do this to the autoexe front bumper ;)

But props to you and I'd like to see the end result if you do go through with this. Good luck bro!

yeah... idk though, the bmw's are just as small if not smaller...

my friends motor building class teacher does carbon fiber stuff. i'll see if he can fab something up. probably unlikely but we'll see.

most cars have these. hopefully with the addition of the 2009 model year, we'll get someone to make these.

here's a little painting i did. i don't know about the wing and the front lip, below the grille part. i like the fogs and the grille though...

this is not my car, btw.

nice man. i dig it.

is that a gloss black?

i was thinking a little flatter look for mine. let me know if you do the fogs too. i've had this idea for a long time and i've never seen anybody else do it. it'd be cool to see some pics.

yes it is gloss black. I just got a new plastic cover that goes right above the honey cone mesh grill because it has the license plate holes and that also got painted gloss black, it's going get put on today I post more pics later
